Property flirt: Surrey’s own Beverly Hills

4 Apr 2016

We all love a good nosey around a gorgeous pad, don’t we? And if it happens to be located in Britain’s answer to Beverly Hills, gated haven to many a celeb, then even better.

So without further ado, I introduce Property Flirt, a brand new Muddy Surrey section in which you (and I) can peep through the keyholes of some stunning local properties. I’ll drip feed you a few clues along the way, so you can guess how much this foxy piece of real estate is worth. (The first hint for this one came when I said ‘Beverly Hills’!)

Right, you ready to rumble? Let’s have a peek. What we have here my friends is a newly built five-bedroom home that screams luxury. It’s in one of Cobham’s private estates, Eaton Park.

Cobham regularly makes the “best place to live” lists, and it’s little wonder. There’s a charming rural air to the village, excellent schools nearby, and it’s still within spitting distance of London. For years it was known as the “gin and Jag” belt, thanks to its popularity with stockbroker types. Now though, it’s more likely to be compared to Bel Air.

Chelsea FC’s training ground is nearby, and these exclusive private estates are home to many of their players (and wives and girlfriends). The Redknapps – Louise and Jamie – live just down the road, as does Andy Murray, presumably in a house with a tennis court out the back.

Hollywood heartthrob Antonio Banderas bought in Cobham recently, saying he loves the “magical setting”. He loves to go cycling in the woods, and watching the deer and foxes that come into his garden.

So you’re getting the picture. If you don’t bump into Antonio while you’re out walking Barnaby, you may see him in Waitrose where he might point you in the direction of the best Spanish salami.

But minds off salami, let’s get back to the house. Mirabeau was built by Rushmon Homes, and has used French styling and traditional masonry craftsmanship in each wing. Wing, I say. Check out those vaulted ceilings and the amazing light coming in through those windows.

Want a few more clues? Well Mirabeau spans a pretty impressive 7,412 sq ft, over two floors and is surrounded by large gardens. There are no less than five reception rooms downstairs – day, family, living and games rooms, plus that incredible kitchen/diner. Oh, and there’s a study, amazingly impressive entrance hall with a staircase that was so obviously built for grand entrances for girls in elegant dresses. On a practical level, there’s a utility and boot room, and of course a double garage for the luxury cars.

Bedrooms are always a good indicator of price aren’t they? Well, upstairs we have five bedroom suites. The master includes separate dressing rooms for him and her, and an amazing bathroom with a bath set into a bay window that overlooks the grounds. That’s it below. Excuse me while I have Alejandro draw me a bath. No, that’s just me dreaming again.

Right then, you’ve had a good look around, stuck your head round the door of the bedrooms, opened a few cupboards and maybe even had a sneaky sit-down in that bath… time to guess the price! It’s a lot of house and on a private estate in one of the UK’s most sought-after areas. Have a little think, then click here to find out.

Have your say
