My New Year’s Resolutions 2017

31 Dec 2016

I don’t want to make you jealous so early in the New Year, but check out my fantastic bum! Oh alright, this is actually my bum in about 20,000 squat thrusts time but *sigh* isn’t it a work of art?

You’re either a New Year’s resolutionist or not. I am one. I like resolutions. They frame the year, encourage perspective, empower with new goals (to fail miserably at, I grant you, but still).

If you’ve made some resolutions already, they’re probably loosely along the lines of mine (if I’ve got you all wrong, feel free to tell me!). I’m gunning for better health and fitness, a more sane work/life balance, a promise to self to cook more food from scratch, have more dinner parties and be smarter with my free time. Oh and to elope with one of the Hemsworth brothers.

It’s the first year I’ve really felt like this and I’m pretty excited because frankly it just feels a lot more sane and measured and grown up and do-able (well, most of it does). So watch this space. If I’m still rolling round Surrey in March, feel free to gloat.

But I’m adding another resolution this year and it’s top of the Muddy list. I’m resolving to max out on happiness. It’s quite a simple resolution isn’t it, but honestly I think it’s quite a skill. Ask me in 2017 how I’m feeling and I won’t say ‘not too bad’ – such a depressing phrase! I’m going to be ‘really well thanks’. Plus, I’m going to perform an act of kindness every day (no Mr Muddy, this does not include your shag-pass for Jennifer Lawrence). I’m going to enjoy the moment more too – think about the Champagne rather than the hangover.

And on that cheery note, I’m ready to the pop the cork on 2017. Pass the glass, and let’s have some fun!

Sounds fantastic! My resolution is to just make more of weekends and time off work so we started off with a day at Bocketts Farm. Day started well when the sat nav directed me to a caravan park! We had a good day but prefer Fishers Farm. Best get planning the fun for next weekend….!
