Polished to perfection
Time to get those hooves sorted and paint your toes bright? In search of the perfect pedi, I tried out Polished in Godalming
I know that summer is finally on her way when I start craving bright orange nails. Never mind if blue, green or black are the colours à la mode, I always feel positively sunny as soon as my nailage is completed in a cheery shade of scarlet, cerise or coral.
I went to Polished in Godalming for a full pedicure on the Muddy hooves (because frankly *sigh* they need it). So first up, let me tell you that my therapist (and salon manager), Kirsty was a trooper – if she grimaced it was internally. So extra points for unflinching professionalism!
Polished is located down Moss Lane just off the High Street in Godalming, and less than 30 seconds walk from the Crown Court car park no less (so not far to trot with those newly polished toes).
Manicures are downstairs, and pedicures upstairs, where you’ll also find treatment rooms. The Beauty Lounge at Polished offers maintenance beauty treatments like waxing and spray tanning, as well as luxuries like facials, body wraps and massage.
The Polished Pedicure is, by it own assertion, a scrumptious twist on a more traditional pedicure. Kirsty put my tootsies through their paces, with a hard skin reduction, a bath bomb foot soak, a foot scrub, cuticle work, a file and shape, a foot and lower leg massage and polish. Ahhh. I was in pedi heaven.
And how are they lasting? I’m glad you asked. I had the gels exactly three weeks ago today, and they’re still absolutely perfect and chip-proof – despite lots of time in running shoes training for an obstacle course race (don’t ask – clearly I signed up when I was either drunk or insane. Probably both!).
I have no problem in recommending Polished, those gals really know their stuff. Three weeks on, my nails are still looking perfect. Oh, and if you’re wondering. The colour is Tropix. Bring on summer.
