Bolney Wine Estate, the vision of Janet and Rodney Pratt, is situated on a hill which was part of the Butting Hill One Hundred, listed in the Doomsday Book.

Among the pioneers of English wine production, we started back in 1972 as Bookers Vineyard, with three acres of vines and have since grown to 39 acres and have become specialist red wine producers. It has been an interesting journey, with a few changes of winemaker along the way, until Samantha Linter took over in the 1990s.

Our Wine

We’ve won many national and international awards and in 2005 we invested in a state-of-the-art winery to help us produce top quality red, white and traditional method sparkling wines. All our wines are handmade with care by our passionate team. Our goal is to produce the best quality wines possible in a way that is also sustainable. Our wine is available to buy online and in our shop.

Tours and tastings

We offer tours of our vineyard and state of the art winery ending by sampling a selection of our wines. And if you are feeling really indulgent, why not treat yourself to a tour that includes a scrumptious afternoon tea or a charcuterie-style lunch?

All of our tour vouchers are valid for twelve months so, they’re ideal to give as a gift experience. Alternatively, you can buy and book straight onto a tour. We also offer group and hen party packages and tastings parties at your home with a variety of themes including chocolate and wine tasting in conjunction with Cocoa Loco.

Cafe and function space

Our new extended cafe is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch and pop up dinners and features products sourced from as close to home as possible including the butchers at Handcross, the Home Cakery in Shoreham and Springs Smokery in Edburton.

This newly converted area with a terrace overlooking the vines can also be used as a function space for parties, corporate events and wedding receptions. In fact we hosted the Muddy Stilettos award winners drinks shortly after it opened!
