The Stag on the River, Lower Eashing
Muddy says: A stunning riverside pub with a great outdoor area, lovely food and stylish rooms.
This charming historic inn in the quaint village of Lower Eashing was once a regular haunt for shooters and hunters, serving up hearty food, fine ales and a comfortable bed.
These days the 18th-century pub hasn’t strayed far from those values with a firm emphasis on quality locally sourced food and great beers and accommodation in seven beautifully decorated bedrooms.
The Stag is a pub full of character, with timber beams, flagstone floors and mismatched tables and chair in a mix of plaid and vintage leather upholstery. There’s a cosy homely feel to the pub in the cooler months, but its position on the River Wey and fab outdoor terrace and garden make it a brilliant pub for alfresco dining in the summer.
