The Art of Curry
Muddy says: Always wanted to make your own authentic Indian curry? Say hello to Sameena Thompson who will not only teach you all her cooking secrets, but also produces a range of curry sauces for when you just don’t have time to do it yourself.
Sameena’s curries are something special. Cooked in the classic slow cooking style of the Royal palaces of India, her recipes have been passed down from her grandmother and mother.
It was said they had zaika in their hands – zaika means taste – and there’s no doubting that Sameena has inherited not just their recipes but also their skill.
Her curries are inspired by the Mughal, Nawabi and Rajasthani style of sophisticated royal cooking, spanning Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur and beyond – and the result is an elegant dish with sophisticated, delicate layers of deep flavours.
Sameena offers a four-week evening course and a full-day Saturday class, and a half-day Sunday class for quick and easy curries and veg. She also offers gift vouchers – which would make for a rather clever, self-serving present if you live with a dud cook.
But quite possibly the best thing about The Art of Curry is the range of gourmet curry sauces. Each one is gluten free and vegetarian, and slow-cooked from scratch in Sameena’s own kitchen in small batches.
A definite, finger-lickin’ Muddy endorsement.
