It's Afternoon Tea Week and what better way to celebrate than booking in for one of Surrey's best alfresco offerings? Here is a run down of our favourites!

Great Fosters, Egham

If you enjoy your small sandwiches and tiny sumptuous cakes with a few of parterres gardens, this one’s for you. From delicate bavarois to to-die-for eclairs, a trip to Great Fosters is perfect for that special occasion or simply to treat yourself to the perfect afternoon out.


Barnett Hill Hotel, near Guildford

What could be better than afternoon tea overlooking gardens and the Silent Pool gin garden? Enjoy your experience with a classy twist with an extra special menu featuring panna cotta, lemon meringue pie, cheese savoury in a mini brioche bun and so much more!


Foxhills, Ottershaw

Head to the patio of Foxhills for an delightful traditional afternoon tea for the whole family. In addition to the classic favourites that every afternoon tea couldn’t be without, we love that there is a dedicated ‘Little Prince & Princess Tea’ to make sure the younger ones get their perfect fill of sweet and savoury treats.


Langshott Manor, Horley

This afternoon tea has been awarded three-rosettes in credit for how special it is! Best enjoyed in the summer on the terrace overlooking the gardens of the manor, book a champagne afternoon tea or, of course, go traditional with delicate cups of your favourite brews. Prices start from £28 per person and is available daily from 12pm-5pm.


The Petersham Hotel, Richmond

Best enjoyed overlooking the River Thames with a glass of Petersham champagne in hand, head to The Petersham for afternoon tea for a high-quality combination of the favourites that are sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries. What’s not to like? It’ll cost you £32.50 each.


Watts Gallery, near Guildford

While best known for its impressive art, did you know Watts Gallery offers alfresco afternoon tea at The Tea Shop? Book into the experience to coincide with a creative and inspiring afternoon at the gallery, and maybe skip breakfast so you can get your fill of tea, huge scones and sandwiches and cakes galore.


Frensham Pond Hotel, Farnham

Fancy a lazy afternoon by the water with a side of sweet treats galore? You will love afternoon tea at the water’s edge at Frensham Pond Hotel. Served daily from 2.30pm-5.30pm, we very much like the extensive wine list that comes with this menu!


Warren House, Kingston

This afternoon menu is truly extensive and what’s even better is that it can be enjoyed alfresco as usual or as a picnic in the grounds. Add some sparkle to the occasion with glasses of champagne, or go traditional with a pick from the long list of loose leaf teas that are brewed to perfection every time. Fancy booking for a special occasion? Book ahead and even request a theme!


Nutfield Priory, near Redhill

Head to the terrace of Nutfield Priory for sweeping fews of the Surrey and Sussex countryside. Served from 12.30pm-4pm, this luxury take on afternoon tea costs just £29.50 per person. We’ve got our eye on the miniature cheesecakes.


Hartsfield Manor, Betchworth

With a choice of tea or prosecco, afternoon tea at Hartsfield Manor is always a decadent occasion. The menu is seasonal, ensuring the ingredients is tip-top and as fresh as you can get! Afternoon tea is served on Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm – 5pm, and don’t forget to book ahead.
