Handmade in silver, gold and using semi-precious materials, Hampton Court Village's Joulberry is bold, unique and unforgettable (just like you?)

There’s nothing more exciting here on Muddy than unearthing a brilliant local designer. And we’re rather lucky here in Surrey to have a strong contingent of arty types designing, creating and making all sorts of beautiful wares.

Right now I’m super excited to tell you about 2019 Muddy Award finalist Joulberry, a boutique jewellery brand based in Hampton Court Village creating jewellery for all occasions.

The brand was established in 2010 by designer Therese Kelly and lawyer Sandra Dunn, who share a passion for jewellery. The boutique in Hampton Court Village opened four years later in 2014, and it’s from here that they now create and curate the brand’s gorgeous designs.

Using gold, silver, rose gold, platinum and precious and semi-precious stones, Therese handcrafts original jewellery – rings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets, cufflinks and earrings. She also makes high-quality leather bracelets.

The designs are understated, yet distinctive, classic and classy. Therese mixes traditional with contemporary and the results are striking. I love the antique charm of these stunning 9 carat rose gold Madeleine earrings – a statement if ever there was one.

The brand’s signature necklaces are the spheres – they’re unusual and intricate and the ultimate gift for a loved one – inspired by the connection between two people.

And while we’re talking about the perfect gift for a loved one – or the perfect gift for self – there’s a range of personalised jewellery designs that includes rings, bracelets, bangles, necklaces and cufflinks.

There is literally something for everyone (and every price point) in the Joulberry collection. If diamonds are your best friend – there’s a stunning collection of diamond jewellery which ranges from simple stud diamond earrings to elaborate angel wing earrings worth £6,800 (below).

And the rings! Let’s talk about the rings. The designs are beautiful, and quite unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. And the collections vary from sapphire and diamond rings that wouldn’t look out of place on the hands of the ladies aboard the Titanic, to more contemporary designs like the gold diamond rings below.

Everything is hand crafted in the studio at the Hampton Court boutique, and there are many unique one-off designs.

Joulberry also offer a bespoke service, with pieces being made from 18 carat gold, platinum or incorporating diamonds. And they’ll also resize or refurbish jewellery, and restore vintage pieces.
