What a stylist wears

What are the style staples a dedicated fashionista can't live without? We nabbed five minutes with personal stylist Nina Victoria to find out.

If you’re feeling stuck in a style rut, it’s time to re-evaluate your wardrobe. But it’s easier said that done, right? If only we had a fairy godmother personal stylist on hand to tell us what to wear.

Well, hey presto. Meet Nina Victoria, a Surrey-based stylist who can help you feel confident and chic through great personal styling. Here are Nina’s five fashion must-haves.

THE BLAZER

Shop the look: Pink and white gingham blazer, £49.99, Zara; Camel buttoned blazer, £69.99, Zara

The blazer is such a key item for your capsule wardrobe and the perfect piece to elevate any style. Throw over a t-shirt and jeans or a day dress and trainers for a smart but casual style or wear it with smart trousers and heels for an elevated and chic look.

THE RATTAN BAG

Shop the look: Rattan Hexagon Bag with leopard print lining, £65, Soi 55; Rattan Ata Round Bag with shell print lining, Soi 55

My go-to bag for this season which works beautifully with every outfit and perfect for every occasion.

THE HEADBAND

Shop the look: Leaf embellished headband, £34, Anthropologie; Lilac pleated twisted front headband, was £28, now £14, Anthropologie

It’s definitely the year of the headband and I for one am loving this fabulous trend. Adding a pop of colour or an extra little detail will elevate your look and pull an outfit together. This wedding season wear a headband instead of a fascinator and you will be the envy of all wedding guests.

THE TEA DRESS

Shop the look: Matilda red spot maxi dress, £285, Rixo; Calvin Klein green prairie maxi dress, Zalando, was £174.99, now £139.99

So many beautiful prints and colours perfect for this summer season. Summer garden party or smart casual work style a tea dress is such an easy piece to throw on with a leather jacket, trainers or chic summer sandals.

THE PLEATED SKIRT

Shop the look: Yellow pleated midi skirt, £69, & Other Stories; Kristen pleated skirt strawberry split, was £110, now £88, Boden

For me the pleated skirt is definitely part of my capsule wardrobe as works so well across all seasons and is just a really easy piece to throw on and style. I love wearing it with a slogan tee and trainers or when the weather is on our side a chic bodysuit or strap top looks beautiful together.
