A property flirt with water views

Oh la la. I’ll say straight from the off that this property is waaaaaay out my league, but isn’t it fun seeing how the other half live?! And it doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming does it?

Have a good nose at this property, guess the price, and see the bank manager, sell the family silver, beg and borrow from your folks, and come up with a multimillion-pound international business pronto.  Okay, here we go. No cheatypoos please, make your guesses before you click through – and pop them in the comments below.

Clue number one: this one is all about location, location, location. Karno House is a beauty sitting right on the River Thames, just yards from Hampton Court Palace and just across the bridge from the restaurants, bars and boutiques of East Molesey.

And – clue number two – whoever it was that said size doesn’t matter… well, they were wrong, because here it matters very much – all 5,600 square feet of it. It’s arranged over three floors, with six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

It was built in 1996 – and manages to strike a pretty good balance between period styles and contemporary features. Sash windows and timber shutters nod to the previous century, while the Sonos sound system throughout is firmly in this one. Outside, a long garden – with decking and a paved patio area off the house – leads down to the Thames where there is a fixted pontoon and a mooring facility. How very James Bond!

Inside, the relative newness of the house means it’s been designed with sensible family living in mind. On the ground floor there is a double garage (accessed through electric gates) and a large utility room, with a door leading outside. So far very practical.

There’s an open-plan kitchen-dining-sitting room, with doors leading out to the decked area and garden. It’s an enormous space, that’s flooded with light from the windows and doors along the back.

There are two other reception rooms downstairs, one which also has doors leading to the decked area out the back, the other a cosier area with oak flooring and a fireplace.

Up the stairs we go, where on the first floor we’ll find five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The master bedroom is on this floor, and has all the bells and whistles, including fitted wardrobes, an ensuite bathroom and French doors leading to a balcony where you sip can your morning coffee while taking in the views of the garden and the river – just like Muddy Surrey HQ!

Upstairs again is bedroom number six and bathroom number five – as well as a bonus room that is currently set up as a home office, complete with a kitchenette area. Oh my giddy aunt, this property has Muddy Surrey written all over it!

Right, that’s your lot, no more clues. Ready to guess? Consult, review, place your bets. I usually say within £5k of the asking price, but I’ll be nice this time and say within £50k. What to see just how much of the family silver you’re gonna have to hock if you want to live here? Go on then….

Louise, I’m with you. Cleaners… and someone to drive the boat you would have moored at the bottom of the garden!!

The decor is rather naff though. Looks like a tacky overpriced badly designed hotel more than a tasteful home and actually looks like a wags home!! All fur coat and no knickers. Miaow ?
So on main road under flight path but by river £4.3million maybe
