The Fox and Hounds, Englefield Green

You’ve got to be quick if you want one of the Fox and Hounds’ roast dinners – they sell out fast. The menu changes weekly but you can expect things like beef sirloin, chicken, garlic roasted aubergine and stuffed mushrooms. The Cricketers on the Green, Pirbright

With a takeaway menu that includes woodfired pizzas and pub classics, The Cricketers also offers a classic Sunday roast for collection between 12noon and 5pm on a Sunday. The menu includes classic roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds, roasted root veg and options like whole baby chicken, Hampshire pork belly, rump beef or mushroom and Somerset brie Wellington. The Dog and Pheasant, Brook

This countryside pub is offering an extensive Sunday menu that includes four roast dinner options (lamb shank, mushroom nut roast, chicken and beef) all served with the roast spuds, Yorkies and seasonal veg. There’s also a children’s menu, which includes a roast, and a delicious choice of dessert. Order online for collection between 12noon and 3.30pm.


The Skimmington Castle, Reigate

The Skim has long been a favourite spot for a Sunday roast – and fans needn’t miss out. Roast dinners are available every Sunday from 12noon to 6pm. There’s a choice of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, nut roast and tagine roast and they all come with seasonal veg and all the trimmings including homemade gravy. Prices are between £10-£13, with half price child portions. There’s also a choice of puddings. Order online for collection via a drive-through.


The Percy Arms, Chilworth

A long-time favourite of the team here at Muddy, the Percy Arms is now offering a divine Sunday roast menu for pick-up between 11.30am-2.30pm on Sundays. Choose between Surrey beef and turkey, both served with with honeyed parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts, roasties, Yorkies and gravy – all for £13. Add cauli cheese for two for an extra £4. The roast dinners are ready-to-eat, or they can be reheated later. The Percy Arms also has a butchery with a roasting joints on offer – seasoned and sealed by the chefs ready to be finished at home in the oven. Order online.

The Waverley Inn, Weybridge

Missing your pub roast? In lockdown #3 The Waverley Inn launched The Dine Inn, which includes a three-course Sunday Roast kit, with kids portions too. Orders need to be placed by 9pm Tuesday for collection on Saturday or Sunday. You get a choice of roasted chicken, beef or a roasted veggie Wellington and all the traditional sides. From £24-£36 for two adults. Kids, from £20.50-£24 for two. You can add on extras like cauliflower cheese, and extra potatoes, and Yorkshire puds. Order online.


The Olive Tree, Sutton Green

Lots of choice at the Olive Tree – and not just on a Sunday. First up there’s the traditional roast dinner, with the choice of pork, sirloin of Sussex beef, chicken, lamb and mushroom wellington with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese, savoy cabbage, honey roasted parsnips and carrots, roasted tatties and Yorkshire puds. There’s also a ‘specials board’ as well as a good list of pub classics like burgers, pork ribs and beer battered haddock, puddings and a children’s menu. The Withies Inn, Compton

This traditional 16th century inn may not be open for cosy roast dinners to be eaten in, but there’s still the option to takeaway on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday – with a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings on the menu on Sundays. Pre-order by calling 07817 225501 for collection between 11am and 4pm.


The Derby Arms, Epsom

Sunday roast ahoy! Get your fix of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and slow cooked meats from the Derby Arms. They come served with seasonal greens and roast veg. And if you’re feeling particularly hungry you can add cauliflower cheese or Dauphinoise potatoes. There’s also an option to order starters and puddings. The Plough Inn, Farnham

The Sunday roasts continue at The Plough on a Sunday with takeaway available for collection from between 12.30pm and 4.30pm. There’s a choice of meats – beef, pork or lamb, or a vegetarian alternative served with roast potatoes, seasonal veg and Yorkshire puds, plus the option to add cauliflower cheese or braised red cabbage. The Wotton Hatch, Wotton, nr Dorking

The Wotton has launched its Dine at Home service offering takeaways from an extensive menu including a roast dinner on Sundays. There’s a choice of beef, pork belly or roast chicken – or the trio of all three if you can’t decide – plus a fig and Dolcelatte roast for non-meat eaters. The Rambler’s Rest, Chipstead

Order in your classic Sunday pub roast dinner from the Rambler’s Rest in Chipstead – and the beauty of this pub is it’s proximity to Banstead Woods. So you can head off for a walk in the woods before you collect your dinner. There’s plenty of choice for your roast dinner, including sirloin of beef, pork belly and chicken (or a trio of all three if you really work up an appetite), plus a vegetarian roast for the non-carnivores. The Windmill, Windlesham

Fancy a succulent roast dinner but can’t choose which roasted meat to go for. With the Windmill’s takeaway menu, you don’t have to – there’s a choice of beef, pork belly or chicken – or all three, if you fancy. Or for the non-meat lover there’s a divine fig and Dolcelatte roast. Everything comes with all the trimmings, plus the option of starters and puds. The White Swan, Richmond

There’s a small but perfectly formed menu for collection from this country-style gastropub in Richmond, which includes some great Sunday roast options. Choose from British beef sirloin, Welsh leg of lamb, slow roast pork belly or nut roast – with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese. Prices are from £12.95-£17.50. Botley Hill Farmhouse, Warlingham

Pre-order your Sunday roast from Botley Hill by 12noon on Saturday for collection on Sunday via a drive-through. Choose from beef, belly of pork, chicken or nut roast, with all the trimmings. Prices are from £11-£13, with half portions also available. If you’re not in the mood for a roast dinner, there’s also spagietti bol, chicken schnitzel, sausage and mash, and a spinach and chickpea curry on the Sunday menu, plus a choice of puddings for after.
