I’ve got the keys…
Fancy a nose around this gorgeous little number just outside Oxted? Uh huh! I thought you might.
Usual rules apply on this Flirty Girty of a property – look at the pics and description, guess the price (no cheating), and gloat for the rest of the day if you get closer to the price than your husband, friends, colleagues, rellies, or family pets. OK. *Deep breath* Let’s do this, people.
So, here we have Gibbs House, a five-bedroom beauty set on just over an acre of landscaped southwest-facing gardens that includes a heated swimming pool with its own pavilion. Entry is through double electronic gates. Impressive, no?
Ok, so a few handy hints: Gibbs House is on Pains Hill, an exclusive little spot, near Limpsfield Common. It’s pretty secluded with gardens bordered by mature hedges, and yet only two miles from Oxted (which has direct links to London. It’s the best of both worlds, I’d say!
The house has recently been renovated – and nothing has been overlooked. On the boring but practical side of things, there’s new heating, new plumbing and new electrics, and a swanky wireless monitored alarm.
On the more exciting and flashier side of things, there’s a gorgeous new bespoke kitchen with hand-painted units, larder and a big central island that’s perfect for gathering your friends around with their G&Ts while you whip up an informal dinner. While we’re in the kitchen, I’ve got to tell you about the pantry, which has a drinks fridge. There’s no doubt this is a house made for entertaining. *Sigh*
Downstairs there’s also a family room, an elegant drawing room with fitted floor-to-ceiling bookcases, a billiards/games room and a garden room or study.
Upstairs – and there are two separate staircases leading up, one from the entrance hall the other from the kitchen – there are four big bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a master suite with its own dressing room and bathroom. We’ve stumbled upon my interiors fantasy right there. Check out the luxury in these rooms.
Still scratching your head? Okay – a couple more clues: outside there’s a tractor shed, because, y’know, we all need somewhere to park the Fergie – or is that just me? Plus there’s a children’s playhouse.
Frankly this is the sort of place I’d sell my mother to fund. But, um, is my mum worth enough to cover the cost? Decide on the price, and find out … NOW.
