Ooooh la la. What have we here? We’re nipping across into Hampshire for this elegant dame. And what a beauty she is. As always we’re going to have a bit of a fun – open a few doors, snoop around the stables and ogle the orangery. I’ll drip feed you the clues, then you guess the price and claim your £1000 prize! Er, just joshing. We do this purely for the glory folks.
Right, shall we grab the keys and take a peek?
This is Hurlands House, and you’ll find her nestled on abut 1.66 acres on the edge of the peaceful village of Headley a few kilometres from Bordon and Liphook. Timber gates and a gravel driveway lead you to the front door.
Do you want to see the house first or shall we start with the gardens? Shall we go inside? Ok lets’s.
There’s a wonderful galleried reception hall which leads through to an open-plan kitchen with dining and sitting area. There is beautiful oak flooring through most of the downstairs. The kitchen flows through into the orangery, which has a log burner set within a rustic brick fireplace.
I’m itching to tell you about the gardens, but for now I’ll just say that there’s access to a garden terrace through double doors from the kitchen, and from the orangery there are three sets of double doors that lead out to this glorious space.
Downstairs, there is also a panelled drawing room that’s chock full of features, a bedroom suite, a study and a utility. Upstairs, there is some serious space going on. There are four bedrooms – two with ensuite shower rooms, and the master with a balcony that overlooks the adjoining fields, an ensuite shower room, a dressing room with built-in wardrobes, and access to the gym. I think that’s one big fat hint about the price right there. This house has a gym!
Getting an inkling for the price yet?
A few more clues for you then. Outside, the gardens and grounds have been beautifully looked after. There are vegetable gardens, a fruit cage, a winter garden and enough fruit trees to make an impressive fruit salad – cherries, apple, pear, plum, fig and apricot. I think I’m in love. But, if the gardens weren’t enough, there are also stables, a hay barn, a tack room and – perfect for families with teenagers – a party barn with its own fireplace and dining area.
Right, that’s your lot then. Confer, decide, and then guess – and see if you’re within £5k of the price. Let me know how you get on.
