First look! Courtyard Gardens in Oxted
Courtyard Gardens, the luxury housing development in the heart of Oxted, has launched its first show home. Fancy a look around? C'mon then, follow me...
Did someone say opening? Yup! The luxury apartments Courtyard Gardens has launched its brand new show home – a two bedroom, two bathroom stunner in Atkinson House (which is due to be completed this summer).
And never one to miss the chance of a good ole property snoop, Muddy was right there as the keys twisted in the lock to take a look around and natter with the interiors expert who created the look, Paul Dawson, the design director at Honky Interior Architecture & Design.
Courtyard Gardens – a new development by St William – is made up of 111 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, and combines beautiful design, elegant living and all the amenities of city living, thanks to its location in the centre of Oxted. The apartments are set around gorgeous tiered landscape gardens, and each one comes with its own allocated and secure parking space.
Inside, the show home exudes calm. Pastel hues are really popular this year, with the lighter shades of the colour palette providing a relaxed feel to living spaces. Paul says these can be incorporated into your furnishings by layering with pastel-coloured rugs, throws or a statement chair.
At Courtyard Gardens, inspiration came from the English countryside, and the soft natural tones in the new show home complement the planting of the central courtyard. By carefully selecting the tones of the palette throughout the living area and the principal bedroom, the Honky team has combined the softest greens, pinks and blues to provide a lovely relaxed and homely feel. Trust us – you’ll want to sink down into the sofa and stay a while!
The perfect home offices
Working from home has become the norm, and Paul says 2021 will see ‘zoning’ as a popular way of creating different areas for work, entertaining and relaxing, whilst keeping fluidity throughout the room. The use of rich, dark colour palettes can help to define a study area and separate the workspace from other living areas.
The apartment at Courtyard Gardens offers flexibility for working from home. The generous reception room is the perfect place to create an office area – and with careful angling, the double doors to the terrace would be the backdrop to your zoom meeting.
There are two bedrooms – and as you’d expect of any luxury apartment the principal bedroom suite includes a built-in wardrobe and an ensuite shower room. There’s also a separate guest or family bathroom.
Both rooms have been styled in soft neutral tones, alongside soft greens and pinks, with statement furniture and accessories to bring out the personality.
Bringing the outside in
With spring almost here and the warmer weather fast approaching, we’re all looking forward to spending more time outside again. Designing a natural flow between your indoors and outdoors space is key to allowing both spaces to be used as one area. Popular over the years, with 2021 no exception, wicker or rattan furniture is elegant and fits in with any scenery.
The new show home at Courtyard Gardens has a lovely spacious terrace with bespoke painted planters to tie in with the colour scheme and a beautiful mix of varied planting. We love the mix of plants as it gives different tones of green and styles of foliage. Paul says the terrace was zoned in the same way an interior space would be styled – with the furniture arranged to create different ‘rooms’.
Prices start from £437,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. Individual tours or virtual tours can be arranged.
