Fancy a snoop around a house, a rather gorgeous house in the country? Have I got a corker for you! Shall we?
I love having a snoop around other people’s houses – and I know you lot do too. And boy, oh boy, have a I got a corker for you. Let’s take a gander at Mollstone Cottage, and then the fun bit – you get to guess the price. Let the nosiness commence.
This house is a stunner… and fair warning, there’s a lot to fall in love with. Shall we start with the location? It’s on the outskirts of Limpsfield, a pretty chocolate-box village near Oxted, with Staffhurst Wood nearby.
The house itself – approached rather grandly by a sweeping driveway through electric gates – is surrounded by secluded gardens that have been beautifully landscaped and includes an entertaining terrace a useful garden room or home office. There’s also a built-in watering system for the garden, so maintaining the gorgeousness will be a doodle.
Inside, the house is set out over three floors with four big bedrooms (more on those later) and three bathrooms.
On the ground floor there’s a big open plan kitchen / dining / living space, which wouldn’t look out of place on the glossy pages of an interiors magazine. The kitchen is kitted out with all the bells and whistles: range cooker, steam oven, warming drawer, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, and the all important wine cooler. There’s also a big utility room and a handy boot room, plus a downstairs loo.
I’m loving the current owner’s style! Those dining chairs. That teal velvet sofa. The wingback chair in the corner. And the wooden monks pew bench.
Just off the dining space is a separate sitting room – also gorgeously turned out. It’s a cosy room, with a feature fireplace and wood burning stove. Yes, I think I’d be quite comfortable snuggled in there with the fire blazing on a cool winter’s eve.
Up the stairs to the first floor and there are three bedrooms, including a to-die-for master suite with a Sex In The City-style walk-in-wardrobe cum dressing room and en suite bathroom. Prepare to be dazzled!
The second floor is where you’ll find the fourth bedroom – the perfect guest suite – with an ensuite shower room.
So, two questions. Firstly, how much do you think this beauty is worth? And second, when can I move in? Answers in the comments below.
