Property flirt: Wayside wonder
Brand spanking new to the Surrey market, here's a family-friendly and fresh-faced hottie in the pretty village of Woldingham - with gardens to die for. But how much is she worth?

Right, you know the drill! We’ll take you on a virtual tour, you take a sneaky peak behind doors and in cupboards, prod and poke about, take some time to mull it over then let us know in the comments what you think it’s worth.
Let me introduce you to Wayside, a five-bedroom home peacefully tucked away on a private road just a short walk from centre of the pretty Woldingham village. From there you can hop on a direct train to London in just over 30 minutes.

That is, of course, if you can drag yourself away. This property is as pretty as a picture, with gorgeous gardens designed by Chelsea award-winner Nic Howard. The house too, has had a refurb and she’s looking pretty swish.
But let’s start with the impressive entrance. Who doesn’t love a pair of wrought iron gates (electric, of course) and a sweeping gravel drive? This leads nicely to a gravel area where there’s plenty of space for turning and parking and a double garage with a handy entrance into the house.

Inside, through a glazed porch (with useful cupboards to keep the clutter at bay) there’s a reception hall which leads to a large open plan kitchen / dining room as well as a sitting room and an orangery. Downstairs there’s also a separate utility and a study.

The sitting room, as you can see, is as elegant as can be, with windows on three sides – perfect for making the most of the gardens – and a gorgeous stone fireplace. A door connects you to the orangery which has French doors leading out onto the terrace.

This is a house that flows. The sitting room flows into the orangery, which flows through to the kitchen / breakfast and dining room, which leads nicely into the utility. There’s also a fully fitted study on the ground floor and a separate cloak room.
Upstairs, there are five bedrooms including the master suite – complete with ensuite bathroom and dressing room. Two guest rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and there’s also a family bathroom.

But let’s talk about the garden. I’ve been dying to you know! There’s two-thirds of an acre here, and as we’ve said it was landscaped and planted by the Chelsea award-winning designer Nic Howard. It’s a gorgeous combination of manicured lawns, beautifully planted borders, mature shrubs, hedging and trees. There’s also an attractive greenhouse, and there’s a wide paved terrace, perfect for alfresco entertaining.

Location wise, you’re in a good spot. Just a few minutes from Junction 6 of the M25, a quick 30 minute train journey into central London and with excellent schools Caterham School and Woldingham Girls’ School right on your doorstep, and Whitgift Boys’ School an easy train ride into South Croydon. The village primary school Woodleigh Primary is also excellent.

And of course, you’re not far from the bigger towns of Caterham and Oxted for shopping, restaurants, arts and culture.
