Half term looms, so what to do with the little monsters? Fear not, Muddy to the rescue with 23 fang-tastic things to do with kids and teens.

Wiglet’s Great Spook-er-ree

The week-long spooky celebrations at Godstone Farm includes pumpkin carving, trick or treat games and a brand-new light illusion tunnel complete with 3D glasses. Spooky quizzes, crafts and face painting are also all on the menu for the creepiest week of the year!

FESTIVAL: Pumpkin Week
■ Secretts, Hurst Farm, Milford ■ Sat 26 – Thurs 31 October

It’s Pumpkin Week at Secretts Farm in Milford where you can pick your own pumpkin, take a tractor ride and enjoy lots of other pumpkin themed family activities. And of course there will be delicious food including pumpkin soup and pumpkin curries. It’s from 11am-3pm daily. 

October Half Term at Watts Gallery

Embrace your little ones’ crafty side and head to Watts Gallery to create Middle East-inspired woven wall hangings that will add a splash of colour to your home. Fancy something for the garden instead? The colourful clay pot making workshops should hit the spot perfectly.

Scary Skywalk

Immerse yourself in the spooky surroundings of Skywalk Adventure as you zip wire and climb through the forbidden woods with frightening skeletons and spiders lurking nearby. Get dressed in your most ghoulish outfit. For those less keen the scary experience, the Skywalk is open as usual during the day – still with lots of cobwebs and spiders, but less supernatural sightings.

Spun Candy Children’s Masterclass

If you fancy a day out in London, why not indulge your sweet-tooth (and theirs) by enrolling them in a lollipop making workshop at Spun Candy. The hour-long class, at the main candy kitchen in Spitalfields, will take the kids on a journey through the art of candy making. The cost is £30 per child and it’s best for kids aged 6-17. this month you can get 20% off, with code AUTUMN20.

The Little Mermaid

Head under the sea for this brand new musical featuring the famous mermaid and everyone’s favourite lobster. Camberley Theatre is the ‘plaice’ to be!

Mavericks Day Camp

Halloween Macbeth workshop

This two hour workshop with professional actors from Shakespeare 4 Kidz theatre company is for children aged 7-12 years. Booking is a must.

Adventures at Wild Wood

Nick Sharratt’s Right Royal Drawalong

Join the Tracy Beaker illustrator for an afternoon of drawing as Sharratt shares his top tips and how he came to create some of the most famous characters from Jacqueline Wilson’s popular novel.

Autumn Tree Festival 2019

Embrace a day out in nature with a trip to Painshill for its annual tree-loving event. Enjoy children’s trails and installations around the site, heavy horse low impact timber extraction demonstrations and wagon rides, and a while host of local food and craft stalls. Tree you there!

Fun at Little Street

Littles ones growing up too fast? Give them a peek into life as a working adult with a trip to Little Street, the indoor play town where kids can explore the medical centre, supermarket, construction site, school and theatre. There are also toy vehicles in abundance to manoeuvre around the roads of Little Street. They’ll be doing their driving test in no time!

Halloween Events

There’s plenty going on at Denbies Wine Estate these holidays, and it doesn’t all revolve around wine! The Spooky Train Ride and Storytelling sessions are on Mon and Wed at 10am, 11am and 12noon, and on Tues Henfolds Birds of Prey will be on hand to perform their amazing tricks from 11am-3pm.

GoBoat, Kingston

Take to the waters for an adventurous afternoon on the River Thames. Rentable for 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours, don your lifejackets and sail down the river to Hampton Court Palace, passing Raven’s Ait and Thames Ditton Island. The perfect picnic situation!

Halloween Pop-up Bake Club
■ Epsom ■ Tues 28 Oct, 2pm-4pm

This bake club, hosted by private chef Laura Scott, is specifically designed to encourage kids to learn how to bake. And with the TV hits like Great British Bake Off – kids are eager to learn. It’s aimed at kids aged 7 to 13 years.

Witches and Wizards Week

Dress in your spookiest costume for either a 10k or 2k run through the vines around the 265-acre wine estate.

Billionaire Boy
■ Richmond Theatre ■ Wed 30 Oct – Sat 2 Nov

The team who brought Gangsta Granny and Awful Auntie brilliantly to the stage are back with another Walliams classic – Billionaire Boy. 12-year-old Joe Spud may get £10,000 a week pocket money and have two pet crocodiles thanks to his dad’s special loo roll invention but he doesn’t have any friends and he sets out to try and change that with adventures along the way.
