School holiday camps and courses in Surrey

Balancing parenting, work and life commitments during the summer holidays can be tricky, but lighten the load and keep your kids entertained with our rundown of Surrey's finest camps.

Camp Beaumont
■ Locations in Tadworth, Tandridge, Esher, Espom, Guildford, Camberley, Woking, Reigate, Haslemere, Kingston, Surbiton, Richmond, Hampton, Selsdon and Wallington ■ Mon 25 July – Fri 26 Aug
Looking for a summer camp that’s not just about the sporty and outdoorsy activities? For a camp that caters to the arty, crafty, thespy or just non-sporty kid, Camp Beaumont is for you. The emphasis is not just on keeping kids entertained and get them outdoors and active, but to challenge them, teach them how to relax and unwind, learn to express themselves and connect with other kids. Sessions are from 8.30am to either 4.30 or 5.30pm.

WildCats Camp
■ Caterham School, Caterham ■ Mon 4 July – Wed 31 Aug
Priding themselves on offering something for every kid aged 5-12 years old, WildCats offers multi-activity camps in addition to specialised one. Got a budding actor in your family? The week-long musical theatre camp might be just the ticket. Other themed camps include coding and robotics, football, netball, crafty kids, hockey and swim (and that’s not even all of them!). Start and finish times vary between camps.

Aqua Sports Summer Camp Week
■ Mercer’s Lake, Merstham ■ Mon 18 July – Thurs 1 Sep
Do you have a water-loving 8-13 year old? They’re going to love Aqua Sports camps. In addition to key water sports like paddlesports and windsurfing, Aqua Sports’ summer camp offers challenging land games in the form of the ‘Ziggurat Wall’, ‘Peg Pole Forest’, and ‘Slacklining’, and don’t forget raft building! There’s the option of full-day camps (9.30am-4.30pm) and you book by the day or for a full week.

Camp Beaumont

Wild Summer Forest School Camp
■ Painshill, Cobham ■ Thur 28 July – Thu 18 August
Let’s get outside at this Forest School activity camp for 7-11 year olds. Build dens, light fires, cook on a campfire, track animals, paint with mud, make sculptures, climb trees… The list is endless! The healthy dose of daily fresh air will guarantee successful early bedtimes!

Watts Creative Summer School
■ Watts Gallery Arts’ Village, Compton ■ Mon 25 – Fri 29 July
Get a taster of art school on this five-day course led by artist Becci Kenning. Take part in a series of experimental workshops and activities, explore the galleries, site and surroundings, and create work in response to what you discover, culminating in a curated exhibition of your work.

Summer Stage Academy
■ John Whitgift Community Cube Studio, Fairfield Halls, Croydon ■ Mon 8 – Fri 26 Aug
Learn to sing, dance and act at this creative and fun summer holiday programme for children aged 8-12 years. Children will learn all of the exciting elements of performing arts during the week-long (Monday-Friday, weeks commencing Mon 8, 15 and 22 Aug) block of full day sessions (9am-5pm).

Wild Explorers Holiday Club
■ Nower Wood Educational Centre, Leatherhead ■ Tue 26 July – Thu 11 Aug
■ Bay Pond Educational Nature Reserve, Godstone ■ Tue 26 July – Wed 3 Aug
Suitable for children aged 5-11, the Wild Explorers Holiday Club is jam-packed with outdoor adventures to keep your wild ones busy! The club includes activities such as woodland survival, pond dipping, minibeast hunting and forest schools fun. It runs from 9.30am-3:30pm.

Young Rangers Conservation Club
■ Nower Wood Educational Centre, Leatherhead ■ Tue 26 July – Thu 11 Aug
A camp for older kids, Young Rangers is suited to 11-17 year olds – and those who love getting outdoors will be in there element. Kids will discover more about nature by investigating different habitats, learn to safely use conservation tools and how connecting with nature not only helps wildlife but can help you too.

Mega Camps Epsom
■ Blenheim School, Epsom ■ Mon 25 July – Fri 26 Aug
In addition to the popular camp activities like sports and arts and crafts, Mega Camps offer a different daily ‘Mega Activity’ – think Nerf gun wars, magic workshops, archery and wet ‘n’ wild fun! Book anything from a single day to a full week, it’s for kids aged 4-14. A full day from 9am-4pm, or you can book extended hours and do from 8am-6pm.
