Muddy meets Mr and Mrs Twit

When Mr and Mrs Twit came to Kingston, Muddy was first in line to meet them and fire a few questions their way

Squeals of excitement when we heard The Twits were coming to The Rose Theatre in Kingston this Easter. Roald Dahl’s brilliantly funny story of this spiteful couple who live together in their windowless house with the Muggle-Wumps has long been a favourite in the Muddy Surrey house.

So when I was lucky enough to get down and dirty with Robert Pickavance and Jo Mousley – aka Mr and Mrs Twit – I couldn’t help but hurl a few quick-fire questions at them. And they didn’t disappoint.

1. Hairy face or bald face?

Robert (aka Mr Twit): As beards go – the bigger the better!

Jo (aka Mrs Twit): Beardy men get my vote. Handy storage for your lippy too.. save taking a handbag down the pub!

2. Tinned spaghetti or baked beans?!

Robert: Anything in a tin is ok by me!

Jo: Both on toast with extra ketchup and cheese.

3. Pie or tart?!

Robert: Got to be a dirty big pie every time!

Jo: Pie! Bird Pie. My favourite.

4. Beer at breakfast? Or Champagne?!

Robert: Champagne (I can dream)!

Jo: Champagne.

5. Mr Twit or Mrs Twit?!

Robert: You can’t have one without the other!

Jo: You decide.

6. Theatre or film?!

Robert: Never seen either!

Jo: I’d do either if the money was right.

7. Silly or scary?!

Robert: SCARY!

Jo: Silly. Can’t beat a good giggle.

8. Low brow or high brow?!

Robert: Mono-brow!

Jo: Depends what you’re talking about… I like a high eyebrow.

9. Corrie or Emmerdale?!

Robert: Won’t touch soap!

Jo: Both. Get rid of Eastenders!

10. Would you rather be a goodie or baddie?!

Robert: BADDIE!

Jo:  Baddie.

And finally… What’s your Muddy mantra for life?!

Robert: Never work with gerbils!

Jo: Breathe.
