Live your bucket list

Put together a bucket list of life-long dreams. And then actually start living. Here's some inspiration from lifestyle producer, Holly Patrick at heyyholly.

Do you have a bucket list? You know, a list of things to do before you die? Because with the new year and new decade dawning, now’s the time to get your notebook out and start making lists. And if you’re stuck for inspiration, we’ve consulted Holly Patrick, a lifestyle producer who’s job it is to make these things happen, for some inspiration.

1. A luxury adventure in Polynesia: Fiji and New Zealand

Always wanted to holiday somewhere a little more exotic than Cornwall? (Not that we don’t love Cornwall, but hey, you know what we’re saying!) Then head to the pacific and take in the beauty and culture of Fiji and New Zealand.

Fly via LA and stop off there for a couple of days to break up the journey. While in LA; head to Katana in West Hollywood for the most amazing sushi and absorb the cool, contemporary vibes. In Fiji stay on one of the Mamanuca Islands, these are more beautiful and picturesque than the mainland and if you’re a fan of snorkelling this area will not disappoint. Make sure to visit Cloud 9 – a floating bar in the middle of the sea serving cocktails and woodfire pizzas set to a live DJ set.

In New Zealand I’m all about Auckland. I love the feel of the city with its bottomless brunches, friendly people, great shopping and vibrant culture. Better yet only a short boat trip away is Waiheke Island, a wine lovers absolute must-visit. It’s a small island filled with amazing vineyards, beaches and beautiful sunset views. And relax!

.

2. The best party of your life

Milestone birthday, house warming, engagement party or wedding…There are so many reasons to celebrate life. Why not host something amazing that everyone will remember and talk about for years to come! It’s all in the detail, the vibe and the people in the room, right?

For a lot of people, a lack of time, worry about the stress of organising a party and being overwhelmed by the details teamed with not knowing where to start stops people from experiencing how amazing it can really be. Find the right help and then all you need to do is turn up and live the moment!

.

3. A complete makeover

This could be a home or personal style overhaul to give you a fresh start, a newfound confidence, and a new lease of life. The power of a new perspective on your beauty routine, wardrobe choices or home decor could be the ticket to really living life in the way that you want.

.

4. Perform a stand-up comedy gig to an enthusiastic crowd

Have you always secretly dreamed of performing to a crowd and feel the buzz and excitement of doing it, but worried that it wouldn’t be possible? Anything is possible if you think outside of the box and know the right people to make it happen.

.

5. Write a book and get it published

‘We all have a book in us’ or so they say, so why not go on the journey of writing and telling your story. Once completed you could get your work published to reach others and spread your message far and wide.

.

6. Camp on a private island

Untouched by tourism, quiet, tranquil and miles away from anywhere… this is the way to truly switch off and be at one with the sand, sea and wildlife. Off the coast of Palawan in the Philippines is one of the most beautiful places to see the sunrise in the morning and get back to basics in the most beautiful of settings.

I encourage them to prioritise their own happiness, stop procrastinating and start living the life they deserve. Freeing them from a suffocating routine, feeling unfulfilled or uninspired.”
