Getting married? Here's everything you'll need to know to plan your dream wedding in Surrey.

Hartsfield Manor, Betchworth
If you’re looking for a venue that ticks all your wedding boxes, Hartsfield Manor at Betchworth could well be it. The gorgeous manor house is set within 16 acres of grounds and gardens, and offers exclusive use of the venue, as well as luxury accommodation in 50 refurbished rooms plus a beautiful bridal suite. The venue is licensed to hold civil ceremonies of up to 90 guests – in either the Hartsfield Lounge or, for more intimate weddings, the Brockham Room. This can be following a drinks reception and wedding breakfast in the Terrace Restaurant. There’s a wedding co-ordinator and team at Hartsfield Manor who will help plan the day of your dreams, as well as a team of talented chefs who will create a bespoke menu using local produce that is tailored to the bride and groom.

If you want a romantic wedding amongst beautiful grapevines, then you can’t go past England’s biggest wine estate in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Set on 265 acres of vineyards with stunning views out over the vines, Box Hill and the North Downs, Denbies Wine Estate has everything the loved-up couple might want for their wedding day. There’s a choice of three rooms or a pretty outdoor courtyard for the ceremony. Move into the candle-lit wine cellar for reception drinks, before a wedding breakfast in either the Conservatory Atrium (250 guests) or the Garden Room (up to 70 guests). Or, for a more intimate affair The Gallery Restaurant – which has stunning views – can seat between 30 and 60 guests. And there’s no need to leave the venue when the party’s over – there’s accommodation at Denbies Farmhouse for the bride and groom, plus an additional six bedrooms for the bridal party. As you’d expect from a wedding specialist, Denbies has a specialist wedding team to help with the planning.

Botleys Mansion, Chertsey

Want a wedding with wow-factor? Let me introduce Botleys Mansion near Chertsey. This grand Palladian country house is available for exclusive use for 24 hours (so no need to rush off to make way for the next bride and groom), and offers three stylish spaces to say ‘I do’, as well as gorgeous reception areas and luxury accommodation. For the ceremony, the Green Room is a romantic and intimate space with seating for 130 guests, or for larger weddings there’s the Atrium with its impressive grand staircase and sparkling chandeliers. In the summer months, there’s also the option of taking it outside into the Temple Gardens. For the reception, the Atrium is an ultra-glamorous space, or for an elegant more intimate dining space there’s the Green Room. The banqueting teams will help you chose the perfect menu, which will prepared by the in-house chefs, and when the party’s over the bride and groom can retire to the luxurious bridal suite with a four poster bed and beautiful views across the countryside. There are also another 11 stylish guest bedrooms.

Ramster Hall and Gardens, Chiddingfold

Ramster Hall and Gardens is a magical backdrop for your day of nuptials. The stage is set from the moment you turn into the magnificent drive leading up to the 17th century Ramster Hall. It’s surrounded by 25 acres of stunning gardens and peaceful woodlands with views of lakes and hillsides. The house itself is still privately owned, and can be hired for exclusive use for both your civil ceremony and your wedding reception. The Long Hall and Great Drawing Room are gorgeous beamed and panelled halls, over 100ft long and full of period charm. Dating back to 1604, the Long Hall can accommodate up to 160 seated guests or 200 for a stand-up reception, while next door the Great Drawing Room is licensed for civil marriages and can be arranged for any size wedding up to 160 guests. In the winter, a beautiful inglenook fireplace can be set with a blazing log fire, while summer weddings can make the most of the secluded enclosed courtyard. Befitting of a venue such as this, there’s also a grand piano as well as a built-in music system, and an in-house catering team is on hand to take care of the menu.

De Vere Wotton House, Dorking

The exquisite Grade II-listed Italian Gardens and grand 17th century De Vere Wotton House certainly has the wow factor. A sweeping tree-lined driveway sets the first impression, and from then on it’s glamour all the way. If it’s an an alfresco ceremony you want, the Roman-style temple within the 17th-century, private walled garden is simply stunning. Or, you may be dazzled by the Old Library, with it’s grand vaulted ceilings and original fireplaces. Either way, it will be stunning. There are a choice of spaces for the reception. The Orangery Bar is ideal for a drinks reception, and the light and airy Evelyn and Wotton Suites provide a modern backdrop for a wedding breakfast. A dedicated wedding team is on hand to help you plan your day. You can also book the venue for all-day exclusive use. And with 125 luxury guest rooms, your accommodation is well and truly sorted.

The Talbot Inn, Ripley

Historic, relaxed and romantic – with the occasional quirky touch – The Talbot Inn in Ripley is a special place to get hitched. The 15th century coaching inn has played its part in the blooming of love affairs over many centuries, including that of Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton some 200 years ago. With a capacity for 100 guests in the Wisley Suite as well as the more intimate space in Emma’s Room, it’s a venue with character and charm. And there are 43 stylish rooms too, for an appealing 30 second stumble to be when the celebrations are over.

West Horsley Place, between East and West Horsley

New to the Surrey wedding venue party is the Grade I-listed West Horsley Place, which this year became available as a venue. Bamber Gascoigne, the historian and former presenter of University Challenge, unexpectedly inherited the 15th century house and gardens three years ago from his aunt, Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe – and has since transferred ownership to a newly-formed charity, the Mary Roxburghe Trust which is overseeing the restoration of the house. A selection of beautiful rooms are available, including the elegnant Stone Hall, and the large and sumptuous first floor dining room. The romantic walled garden is the perfect back drop for photographs.

Jon Dibben, Smithbrook Kilns, Cranleigh

When I got married I knew exactly what I wanted my ring to look like – and it definitely wasn’t available to buy off the shelf. I ended up having it designed by a jeweller in Melbourne, Australia. If only I’d known Jon Dibben. Based at Smithbrook Kilns, near Cranleigh, he produces stunning designs, which are traditionally crafted with fine quality, natural diamonds and gemstones, personally chosen by Jon, or with you, to create your future family heirloom. Jon’s prices reflect the shape, design, metal and stone choice – so it’s possible to create a ring within your budget.
