The Bull Inn, Limpsfield
Muddy says: Village pubs don’t get much more local than this. After a massive fund-raising campaign The Bull has been bought by local investors, refurbed and is now open for business.
The story of The Bull Inn, Limpsfield’s village pub, is a lovely one – guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
It’s a story of local residents pulling together to buy their pub after it went up for sale and faced an uncertain future. Not only has the 400-year-old pub been secured for future generations, it has undergone an extensive refurb and it’s now a stylish gastropub that’s the heart of this community. They’re calling it a pub-hub.
With a strong focus on promoting local business, food and drink, the pub is open for drinks, lunch and dinner every day except Monday. Menus are updated regularly to include changing seasonal specials, local dishes and classics with a twist. There is also a small portions menu for kids or those with a small appetite.
And in true pub-hub style, there are plenty of nooks, crannies and separate spaces for private events – including the Upper Storey and the Grain Store, a beautifully converted barn – all of which can be used to host everything from birthdays and celebrations to business breakfasts and off-site meetings. And the kitchen is only too happy to create bespoke menus in line with budgets and requirements.
