The Fox and Hounds, Englefield Green
Muddy says: A cosy and relaxed 18th century pub at the Bishopsgate entrance to Great Windsor Park, The Fox and Hounds serves quality home-cooked food all day.
Located right by the Bishopsgate entrance to Great Windsor Park, The Fox and Hounds is one of the area’s oldest pubs dating to 1780.
It’s a cosy and relaxed pub with a strong emphasis on good quality seasonal and regional food. Most of the meat comes from the nearby Crown Estate in Windsor Great Park and fish and shellfish comes mostly from the Cornish coast. Food is served all day from 9am, when the weather is fine, there’s a BBQ in the front garden every weekend from noon.
The bar is stocked with a good selection of quality ales and there’s a good wine list. Fresh coffee is also available.
Dogs and horses are welcome at The Fox and Hounds – dogs in the bar and front garden areas, and horses at the front of the pub where you’ll find hay bales and water. There’s water for the dogs too.
