At GAIL's Bakery it's all about making good bread. It's as simple as that really. Bread, pastries, cakes, breakfasts and lunches made with care, by hand and by the season. Now will someone pass the croissant?
The GAIL’s Bakery story began in 2005, when the first neighbourhood bakery opened in Hampstead to make world-class artisan bread more widely available to local communities. Since then more than 65 bakeries have opened up across London, Brighton, Oxford and Surrey – with the Guildford branch the most recent to bring this fresh artisan bread and baked goodies to local neighbourhoods.
From the start the aim was to reinvent the way we Brits think about bread. Forget the tasteless mass produced stuff you get in the supermarket – each loaf at GAIL’s is handmade and baked fresh every day.
GAIL’s in Tunsgate Quarter is a bakery with a sit-down café where you can choose from the baked goodies displayed on the counter or order something from the menu board that includes things like avocado salsa or sautéed mushrooms on sourdough, toasties, and soup and sourdough.
Vegans are well looked after too, with plenty of options on the menu including a vegan hot cocoa.
