The Percy Arms
Muddy says: An elegant country pub specialising in South African cuisine – think boerewors sausages, biltong and traditional South African bobotie. There are also five luxury bedrooms and a stylish separate function room.

You’ll find The Percy Arms in the village of Chilworth, south-east of Guildford. It’s a gloriously pretty 18th century inn in a gloriously pretty location. The pub has a big garden with a stream and amazing views over the Vale of Chilworth to St Martha’s Hill. There’s also a children’s play area.
The food focus is heavily South African, and while meat features heavily – the daily specials’ boards include game roasts and speciality steaks – there’s also a dedicated vegan menu which has some great choices.
The South African theme spills over to the decor, with authentic artefacts in abundance to help create the style of a colonial hunting lodge. Oversized cushions, animals skin rugs, comfy chairs and cosy fireplaces make this a lovely place to relax.
