The Running Horses, Mickleham

Historic and characterful rural coaching inn with traditional wood-panelled bar with open log fire, an award-winning restaurant and five bedrooms.

Located in the delightful Surrey Hills village of Mickleham at the foot of Box Hill and close to the South Downs, The Running Horses is surrounded by miles of downland, moors and woods to explore.

Afterwards, relax and enjoy Running Horses’ head chef, Daniel Donohue’s, carefully sourced local, seasonal ingredients for his regularly changing menu of flavourful, rustic British dishes with French influences. Daniel’s menu has won Surrey’s ‘Dining Pub of the Year’ Award in both 2013 and 2014 and in 2016, an AA Rosette for culinary excellence for The Running Horses.

The Inn’s five individually-decorated bedrooms (all doubles) are named after famous British racecourses and features colour schemes in restful greys with country antiques, big comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. From £89 a night on a B&B basis.
