The Muddy winners drinks

And now for the fun bit … that moment when the winners of the 2018 Muddy Surrey Awards come together to raise a glass and celebrate their successes.

I’m not sure De Vere Wotton House knew quite what hit it on Thursday week when Muddy staged a takeover of the Old Library – in all its Gothic splendour – to round off the awards with a party for the winners.

Once we’d all got over the gob-smacking gorgeousness of the venue we grabbed a glass of the good stuff, and celebrated the brilliant independent businesses we have in Surrey.

Thanks to De Vere Wotton House for hosting the event in such a glorious setting, and to all our wonderful Surrey businesses who took part, and to the thousands of you who voted for them. It really has been a true testament to how much you value our wonderful independents.

Winners are grinners! Above, clockwise from top left: Becky Cowing from the Fashion Basement and her grandfathert; head chef Valentino Gentile from The White Horse in Hascombe; Donna and Shane Portman; Jennai, Kerry-Anne and Dan from The Leatherhead Theatre.

Above, clockwise from top left: Steve and Alix Parsons from Simon Pure Jewellery; Mindy Coe and her pluse 1; Jo Mabutt and Stephanie Wright from The Art Shed; and Alex Powell and Floss Godfrey from Silent Pool gin.

Above, clockwise from top left: Ivor and Sara Rao from The Lemon Tree; Caron Harrington and Lynn Watts from The Packhouse; food, fizz and certificates; Vicky Edwards and her mum from The Surrey Hills Florist with Shirlee Posner and Viv Ellis, the manager at Secretts farmshop.

In case you missed it, here is the full list of our wonderful winners. Please make sure you pay them a visit and use their services over the coming months. I know they’d be delighted to see you, and they are winners for a reason! That goes for all our finalists too actually.
