26 Christmas wreath workshops in Surrey

Deck your door with boughs of holly! These local festive craft classes are hugely popular so, quick, book now!

What is it about the unstoppable rise of Christmas wreath-making? Where I live people go absolutely mad for them with almost every door adorned with festive foliage by the start of December

If you fancy having a crack at creating your own, we aren’t short on workshops in Surrey with lots springing up over the next few weeks (some come with free festive tipple btw). But be quick to book as tickets are selling like hot mince pies. Secateurs at the ready, let’s go!

Secret Garden Florist, Tunsgate Quarter
Dates: Wed 20 & Fri 22 Nov, 12noon

Two expert florists will be on hand to help and inspire you to decorate your own Christmas spruce wreath. Everyone will have one 40cm spruce wreath to take home. Includes festive refreshments. £40. Booking here.


Wreath-making with Rosie Orr, Horsell Hall
Date: Wed 11 Dec, 10am

Rosie Orr, one of Surrey’s top floral designers and Muddy award winning florist, will show you how to create a traditional moss-based wreath decorated with gorgeous Christmas foliage and accessories. The proceeds of the workshop go to the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice. Mince pies and coffee included. £60

Dates: Tues 3, Fri 6, Tues 10, Fri 13 and Tues 17 Dec, at 10.15am or 1.30pm. 

Join the Polesden rangers the festive yurt to make a Christmas wreath from the natural foliage around Polesden Lacey and the Ranmore Estate. Each workshop lasts 2 hours, with no more than 20 people and includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Brilliant! £35 (booking essential, call 01372 452048)

Relaxed and informal wreath making workshops with interior designer Rachel Power who will guide you in creating your own wreath using foliage, trims and decorations. Materials, equipment, drinks and homemade nibbles included. £50

Make your own Christmas wreath with a fresh noble fir ring that you’ll decorate with pinecones, petite baubles, ribbons and dried flowers. Includes all materials. £30

Learn how to make a natural wreath for your door using fresh pine and mixed evergreens, holly, berries, pine cones, ivy and topping it off with a florist’s bow. Booking essential. £55

Using natural greenery gathered from the local area and a metal hoop base with moss, you will be shown how to create a festive wreath to decorate your home for Christmas. Bring secateurs, gloves and any greenery or non natural items eg ribbons, dried fruits, cinnamon sticks you wish to include. A 2.5 hour workshop with Felicity Sturge that includes tea, coffee and minced pies, then a demo of how to moss the base of your wreath (yours will be done in advance), and then the chance to let the creativity flow. BYO sharp scissors or secateurs. £45

Wreaths of a different kind – in this one day class you will create a charming festive embroidered wreath with surface stitching to produce the feather like leaves. You will learn how to wrap beads with silk to be used for the cheery berries, and appliqué in festive green felt. £121 includes the kit

Create beautiful foliage filled wreath filled with blue spruce and scented soft grey eucalyptus, made on an oasis frame filled with fresh berries, seed heads and contemporary blooms, finished with a ribbon of your choice. Hosted by the Lily and Myrtle Flower School. £60
