You’ll be like a kid in a candy store in this former sweet shop turned luxury holiday cottage with outdoor hot tub on the West Somerset coast.
We’re giving away a three-night stay at The Old Sweet Shop, a chocolate box 17th century thatched cottage in Minehead, with bedrooms named after favourite sweets, sugar almond pastel paintwork, a wall of confectionery ads – and a jar of sweets and homemade cake when you arrive.
One of four Exmoor Character Cottages, The Old Sweet Shop is located in oldest, prettiest part of Minehead. The cottage sleeps eight in four double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom; a duel-fuel range, high-end kitchen appliances and HD TV/Sky/Netflix/Blu-ray alongside the old oak beams, thick stone walls and wood-burning stove.
The perfect base for a holiday or short break with family or friends (plus dog), with Minehead’s sandy beach within walking distance and the spectacular South West Coast Path, pretty villages, castles, a steam railway and the Exmoor National Park all on the doorstep.
Cosy evenings by the fireside.
Sunny days in the garden.
In the hot tub any time.
The area’s gorgeous throughout the year, including the autumn and winter, when the starry night skies are breathtaking and the days are crisp and bright.
