Two-hour Tunsgate Christmas blitz

Yes, people, it can be done! Memorise Muddy's gift buying masterplan, grab your credit card and go go go.

You’ve made your list, you’ve checked it twice and, yep, you do still have eight million presents to buy for all the various offshoots of your family. Gah!

But worry not, we’ve devised a handy two-hour shopping plan of action – you’ll have it nailed by lunchtime, promise. All you need to do is get yourself to the Tunsgate Quarter in Guildford and follow our shopping trail below, which pinpoints the best stores for certain gifts. We’ve even put all the shops in location order starting from the High Street entrance, and factored in a congratulatory refreshment stop at the end. Go forth and shop!

T. M. Lewin

Head straight for this charming, quintessentially English gent’s store for gifts for all those tricky-to-buy-for men in your life. There are loads of stylish silk ties, cashmere scarves and socks, flatcaps and beanies, cuff links, Liberty print pyjamas and a great range of shirts from the traditional business shirt to fun party shirts.

Little fans of Disney’s Frozen film series will be chuffed to get their very own Anna or Elsa shoes. You’ll find the limited-edition range in Clarks. In shades of mint green, silver grey and plum, they’re embossed with snowflakes. While you’re there, Clarks also do a great range of slippers so if if you’re buying for anyone who prefers staying in to going out, their cosy sheepskin styles are a total winner.

Coffee lovers ahoy! A quick stop at Nespresso will sort out gifts and stocking fillers for the caffeine freaks among your crew. As well as the coffee machines – we love the sleek CitiZ in cherry red – there’s an advent calendar, an assortment of  Limited edition coffees inspired by Nordic desserts, handy travel mugs and a range of cute festive pixie espresso cups.

A great all-rounder  – and a good place to grab gifts for anyone who’s nautically inclined with a lovely range of shirts, jumpers and jackets for both men and women. There’s also a lovely gift range that includes pampering bath and body sets, fragranced candles, soft cotton scarves, jewellery and handcrafted Leach Pottery.

The go-to for royals, past and present, this luxury fragrance brand could save your bacon when it comes to buying for that person who seemingly has everything. For a touch of the extravagant go for a scent from the Portraits collection and the bottle comes adorned with the golden head of an animal – we love Terrible Teddy (rhino) for him and The Bewitching Yasmine (panther) for her.

Bobbi Brown

This popular beauty brand is a favourite among beauty editors and professional make-up artists – so grab ‘em for your grown-up female friends. We’re loving the Limited Edition luxe gems collection and the Keep Glowing lip and cheek set. They also offer a ‘party ready’ service for £40, which would make a brilliant gift.

Cath Kidston

The quirky and cute Cath Kidston will sort you out for thoughtful and original gifts as well as affordable stocking fillers. There’s a range of Christmas-themed gifts including mugs, cushions and egg cups, as well as PJs, socks and stationary sets. But we love the monogrammed velvet pouches and the Midnight Stars collection which includes a vibrant overnight bag as well as a vanity case.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the sofas from Loaf – but they’re probably unlikely make it under the tree for anyone in the Muddy Surrey family. The knitted bean bags, on the other hand, would be the perfect gift for any teenager. And if these don’t appeal, there’s plenty of wall art, mirrors, lamps and ceramics to keep the rellies happy.

The White Company

Ahhh. You can’t go wrong at The White Company – there’s probably something for everyone here. Scented candles, cosy cashmere throws, sheepskin hot water bottles, body oil, body cream, bath soak and hand balm (we love the Pomegranate collection). And that’s before we mention the pyjamas, which are so cute everyone in the family should own a pair.

Tick off all the sporty bods in your gang here – there’s everything from yoga mats yoga gear to running gear and rucksacks, plus a great range of stocking fillers like scrunchies, beanies, drink bottles and travel kits.

Have you been in OKA recently? There are literally hundreds of beautiful home accessories, which means you can tick off female friends and rellies in here, with chic cushions and throws, fabulous hand-painted pottery, photo frames and wall prints. There’s even something especially for pooch – blankets, cushions, beds and baskets.

And finally, head to the…

OK, admittedly there aren’t any shops up here but there are refreshments – oh yeah, baby! After that retail military operation, I think we all deserve a restorative cocktail at The Ivy, don’t you? And possibly a bite to eat at the Cosy Club or Pho. Then it’s home, you shopping whizz to delegate all that present wrapping to someone else. Result!
