An Hour and a Half Late
■ Richmond Theatre, Richmond ■ Mon 28 Feb – Sat 5 Mar
Olivier Award winners Griff Rhys Jones and Janie Dee star in this funny portrait of a couple whose five minutes of candid conversation launches an outpouring of emotions, home truths, wine, nibbles and anarchy. Sound familiar?
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
■ New Victoria Theatre, Woking ■ Tue 15 Mar – Sat 19 Mar 2022
Everybody’s talking about hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. STILL! If you didn’t manage to catch it during the one-again-off-again theatre season of 2021, this is your year. Layton Williams and Shane Richie continuing in the roles of Jamie and Hugo/Loco Chanelle. If you miss the Woking show, book now for New Wimbledon Theatre from Tues 5 to Sat 9 April.

We’ve all seen the film, now it’s time for the stage version – this one starring Corrie’s Oliver Farnworth and Footballer’s Wives icon Susie Amy. Tipped to be the most provocative stage-play of the year, it’s a tale of seduction and suspense that asks the question; what happens when desire becomes deadly?
■ Camberley Theatre, Camberley ■ Thurs 7 April
Directed by EastEnders actor Louise Jameson, Revenge tells the story of Bill Crayshaw, a politician who returns from a business trip to find his party agent has been killed. It’s been hailed as a ‘taut thriller full of twists and turns’! If you want to catch it, it’ll have to be in Camberley, the only Surrey stop on the UK tour.
■ New Victoria Theatre, Woking ■ Mon 2 May – Sat 7 May
See this multi awarding show – dubbed London’s sexiest musical – right here in Surrey! Starring a great cast including Corrie and Dancing on Ice’s Faye Brookes as Roxie and Russell Watson as Billy Flynn. If you miss the Woking show, you can catch the show at the New Wimbledon Theatre in Wimbledon from Tues 17 to Sat 21 May.
■ Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford ■ Tues 22 – Sat 26 March
Noël Coward’s gloriously entertaining Private Lives is the inaugural show from The Nigel Havers Theatre Company which will be touring the country with a wonderful line-up of theatrical gems including Nigel Havers and Patricia Hodge.

Alan Carr: Regional Trinket
■ G Live, Guildford ■ Wed 12 – Thurs 13 Jan
The chatty man comes to Guildford this month, but you’ll be very lucky to get tickets as both shows are almost entirely sold out (though there are a couple of single seats still available).
■ He comes to Fairfield Halls in Croydon on Fri 18 March and Woking’s New Victoria Theatre on Sun 15 May.
Romesh Ranganathan – The Cynic’s Mixtape
■ G Live, Guildford ■ Wed 19 & Thur 20 Jan
The nation’s favourite self-deprecating cynic – and the boy from Crawley – is back to talk about all the biggest scams we’re subject to as a nation. This could be close to the bone this year, but you be the judge of that, it’ll defo be a chuckle. There are only a few seats left for the Guildford performances.

Ed Byrne – If I’m Honest
■ Epsom Playhouse, Epsom ■ Thur 20 Jan
Ed Byrne is one of the most successful comedians performing in the UK, regularly appearing on TV and touring to sold-out theatres. In this touring show he takes a long hard look at himself and tries to decide if he has ANY traits that are worth passing on to his children.
■ Ed is also appearing at Guildford’s G Live on Sat 5 Feb, Camberley Theatre on 23 Mar and Redhill’s Harlequin Theatre on 23 April
Jenny Eclair: Sixty! (FFS)

The 60’s babe contemplates another decade of decrepitude and asks: is it a legal requirement to buy Nordic walking poles?
Katherine Ryan – Missus
■ G Live, Guildford ■ Wed 22 March
The funny girl takes time off the box to go on tour and talk about how her hilarious new perspectives on life, love, and what it means to be Missus.

Carpa! Giffords Circus
■ Chiswick House and Gardens, Chiswick ■ Thurs 16 – Mon 27 June
We can’t wait to be in the audience for the brand new show from Giffords for – Carpa! A riotous celebration of all things Mexican (arrrrriba!). The UK tour opens at the Circus HQ in Gloucestershire in April before tour that comes to Chiswick House and Gardens from 16-27 June.
■ Master Park, Oxted ■ Fri 27 – Sun 29 May
Zippos Circus are back on the road with a Big Top tour starring a diverse cast of thrilling artists from around the globe. Expect to see acrobats and aerialists, comics and daredevil motorcyclists.
■ If you miss Zippos in Oxted – or you love the show so much you want to see it again – they’re also at Beddington Park in Wallington from 1-6 June; Twickenham Green in Twickenham from 15-19 Sept; and Bannister Field in Guildford from 6-10 Oct.
MUSIC AND FESTIVALS

This family-friendly two-day festival has something for everyone – from a silent disco and face painting to an eclectic line up that includes Jesus Jones, Maybe Gaga, The Lightening Seeds and more. There are also craft and food stalls, and camping and glamping is available too.
Hampton Court Palace Festival
■ Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court ■ Wed 8 – Sat 25 June
Revel in the joy of light summer evenings with a fortnight of concerts in the picturesque setting of Hampton Court. Confirmed artists include Lionel Richie, George Benson, Elbow, Jack Savoretti and Crowded House. Book tickets early as they always sell out. Some already have!
Guildford Fringe Festival

Investec International Music Festival

Founded in 2010, the Investec International Music Festival brings the best of classical music performance to the Surrey Hills. This year on the bill, expect an world-class artists including the great clarinettist Michael Collins, the ever-more-acclaimed Sitkovestky Trio, a return visit by the wonderful cellist Gary Hoffman, and the long-awaited festival debut of the Modigliani Quartet!
