Dreading the ‘what are we doing today question these Easter holidays? We’ve got you covered: here’s how to avoid the Easter panic and enjoy the company of your egg-fuelled bundles of energy… or at least endure it until they go back to school again.



Mavericks Day Camp
■ Woodmansterne Primary School, Banstead ■ Mon 8 – Fri 12 & Mon 15 – Fri 19 April

cross between Swallows & Amazons and a Bear Grylls show, this sounds ideal for adventurous types, with camping, nature trails, orienteering, ball games, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, quad-biking and archery. And at £40 for a one day pass, £120 for three-days or £185 for a week there’s no reason not to get them off their screens and back to nature?

Wild Wood Adventure
■ Stoke Park, Guildford ■ Every weekend and some weekdays

Plenty of adrenalin-filled action to keep kids amused this Easter at Wild Wood in Guildford – the UK’s most extreme tree-top and zipline adventure with more than 80 challenges to try. Booking essential.

Wild Easter Camp
■ Painshill, Cobham ■ April 3-5 and April 10-12

These all-dayers gets them off the X-box and into the outdoors. It’s most suited to kids aged 8-13. They’ll build dens, light fires, play games and build giant sandcastles. It’s on Tuesday to Thursday for each of the two weeks (April 9-11 and April 16-18), starting at 9am and finishing at 4.30pm each day. Cost is £40 per child per day a day. Advanced booking is a must.

Wiglet’s Easter Eggstravaganza
■ Godstone Farm ■ Sat 6 – Mon 22 April

Plenty going on at Godstone Farm this Easter holiday with a full range of activities and family fun. Get ready for cuteness overload as lambs are born and chicks are hatching! You can even get close to the farm’s furry and feathered friends in scheduled activities throughout the day. Join in the races, cheer on your rubber duck, help braid a miniature Shetland ponies mane and meet the farm mascots.

Family racing day out: All-Weather Championship Finals Day
■ Lingfield Park Racecourse ■ Fri 19 April
A great day out for the whole family on Good Friday. As well as the racing here’s plenty of entertainment  including live music, and Easter egg hunt, face painting, inflatable derby hoppers, chocolate giveaways and a giant inflatable assault course.

Easter Open Day
■ Albury Vineyard, Albury  ■ Sat 20 April

It’s the perfect mix – fun for the kids and wine for the grown ups. Visit the vineyard on Sat 20 April between 11am and 4pm for a family-friendly open day with self-guided tours of the vineyard, a glass of two of bubbly, and delicious wood-fired pizza. The little ones will be kept happy with a vineyard bunny run, as well as colouring and stickers, and chocolate of course.

Easter Eggstravaganza
■ Bocketts Farm, Fetcham  ■ Sat 6 – Tues 23 April

Lots going on at Bocketts Farm but the most exciting must surely be the lambing – with more than 350 new lambs being born. Cute, or what? There are also baby chicks and ducklings, a craft corner, disco den, tractor rides, pony rides and pig races.

Easter at Brooklands Museum
■ Brooklands Museum ■ Mon 8 – Fri 19 April

There’s plenty going on at Brooklands Museum this Easter. The Easter Egg Trail is every day, and free with museum admission. No need to book. The car rides will be operating every weekday from 8-18 April, and the London Bus Museum will be operating bus rides around the local area. There are also kids’ tours on the Concorde at set times throughout the day. And Bertie the Brooklands Bear will make guest appearances. There are also a series of workshops for kids.

Tudor cookery
■ Hampton Court Palace ■ Sat 6 – Sat 22 April

From roast beef to spiced marchpane, discover some of the Tudor delicacies that would grace the tables in Henry VIII’s Palace as the team of historic cooks whip up some tasty Tudor treats. Included in Hampton Court Palace admission.

Wild Learning Holiday Club
■ Reigate, Richmond, Esher, Guidford, Godalming and Farnham ■ Mon 8 – Fri 21 April

Drop them off for the day to have bucketloads of fun in the woods, building dens, making campfires, tracking and stalking climbing trees and stream dipping. It’s good old-fashioned outdoor fun for 5-12 year olds. Drop-off and pick up times vary slightly between sites but is usually around 10am to 4pm. It’s £38-£45 for the day and booking is essential. Places get booked up quickly – so you’ll need to be quick for this. You’ll find the camps at the following venues. Easter Family Fun
■ RHS Wisley, Woking ■ Sat 6 – Mon 22 April

As always, there’s plenty going on at for the whole family at RHS Wisley – from arts and craft sessions to music and storytelling and outdoor activities including sow-and-grow gardening. Cadbury National Trust Easter Egg Hunt
■ Polesden Lacey, Great Bookham, nr Dorking ■ Sat 6 – Mon 22 April

A fun family trail where you solve the clues – work out what’s recycled and what is upcycled in the woodland – to win a chocolate prize. This one is pocket-friendly too because it’s just £3 per trail sheet.

Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt
■ Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey ■ Sat 6 – Mon 22 April

Take the family back in time and join the first ever Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt around the home and gardens of Henry VIII. Follow the clues on the trail to find the golden bunny statues hidden around the palace and gardens, then collect your bunny treat. The hunt is designed for children aged 3-12 years old and their families. Allow 1 hour 30 mins to complete it with ease.

Chocolate Treasure Hunt
■ Painshill, Cobham ■ Sun 21 April

Explore the 158-acre landscape garden in the hunt for hints and clues to help find the egg, and be rewarded with chocolatey treats. It’s on from 10am-1pm. The cost is included in the normal admission price.

Watts Gallery Moonscape Mission
■ Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Compton ■ Fri 30 Mar – Sun 15 Apr

Go on a journey to the Moon with this fun family trail. Find a mechanical moon model, discover early photographs of the moon and meet moon goddesses. At the end you’ll receive a chocolatey treat. The trail is from 10am-5pm each day and is included in the admission price. Recommended for age 5+.

Vineyard Train Chocolate Trail
■ Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking ■ Sun 21 and Mon 22 Apr

Take a trip around the vineyard in the train with an Easter egg hunt at the highest viewpoint of the estate. Children cost £3.50 includes Chocolate Bunny ‘Hide and Seek’ treat, adults £9.50 including glass sparkling wine.

Easter Egg Hunts
■ Secretts of Milford, Milford ■ Thurs 11 and  Fri 12 Apr

As well as the egg hunt at Secretts farm, kids can meet the Easter bunny and join in family games. There will also be a magic show, a barrel train ride, a bouncy castle, merry-go-round and more. Cost is £7 per child.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt
■ Birdworld, Farnham ■ Mon 8 – Thurs 18 April

Explore the different sections of the park during the Dinosaur Egg Hunt and learn how birds have descended from these ancient reptile.s Running between 10am and 5pm everyday of the Easter Holidays, entries at all levels will be placed into a draw for the chance to win some great prizes. There will also be craft workshops and face painting.


Watts Gallery Easter Activities
■ Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Compton ■ Tues 9 – Mon 22 April

Lots to keep the family busy at Watts Gallery over the Easter holidays, including the Moon Prints workshop where kids will make metallic moon prints using gel printing plates (from 10am-4pm, free with admission). Or there are two-hour terracotta clay workshops (Tues 9 – Sun 15 Apr) where kids can make a tealight candle holder. It’s for kids aged 8-12 and booking is required. Cost is £9.50 per child, workshops at 10.30am and 2pm.

Easter Crafts

Get creative this Easter with arts and crafts activities at Denbies Wine Estate. Sessions are at 11.3oam and 2.30pm, cost is £7.50 per child.

Spun Candy Children’s Masterclass
■ Spun Candy kitchens, Spitalfields, London ■ various dates

If you fancy a day out in London, why not indulge your sweet-tooth (and theirs) by enrolling them in a lollipop making workshop at Spun Candy. The hour-long class, at the main candy kitchen in Spitalfields in London, will take the kids on a journey through the art of candy making and they’ll get to shape their very own candylicious tutti fruiti rainbow creation which they’ll take home. The cost is £30 per child and it’s best for kids aged 6-17.

Easter Holidays at the Lightbox

As always, there is plenty going on at The Lightbox in Woking with a range of drop-in and book ahead events. The free drop-in workshops include: Handy Flowers on Wed 10 Apr, Easter Peg Animals on Fri 12 Apr,Easter Bunny Cups on Tues 17 Apr. All workshops are free to drop in anytime for kids aged 4+ between 1.30-4pm. For those who like to plan ahead, there are bookable workshops for 5-8 years including Photomontage on Tues 9 Apr, Tunnel Book on Thurs 11 April, and Secret Garden in Jar on Mon 16 Apr. All workshops are £8 and include all materials.

Easter Bunny Hat Craft
■ Painshill, Cobham ■ Sat 20 April

A drop-in Easter craft activity in the Abercorn Room at Painshill, where kids can make an Easter Bunny hat. It’s from 10am-2pm, with a suggested donation of £1 per child.

Easter Biscuit Decorating
■ Farnham Maltings ■ Wed 17 April

Bring the kids along to Farnham Maltings where they can have fun decorating Easter biscuits and an Easter basket to take them home in. All biscuits and materials supplied. It’s from 10.30am-12noon. Cost £18.

Kids’ craft: Easter bonnets
■ Cranleigh Arts Centre ■ Sat 6 April

Design your own beautiful Easter Bonnet with local artist Miriana D’Ambrosio. This workshop is suitable for kids aged 5 and up, and all materials are provided. It’s at 2pm, and the cost is £6.

Get your best scales on for an exhilarating adventure with Dr Ben Garrod in his hit stage show where you’ll find out all about the deadliest dinos on the planet. All your favourites will be there from the Tyrannosaurus-rex to the Spinosaurus and the Triceratops. Aimed at 5-12 year olds. 2pm showing.

Fantastic Mr Fox
■ The Electric Theatre, Guildford ■ Thurs 11 – Sat 13 April

The Man In The Moon returns to The Electric Theatre to celebrate their 21st anniversary production with a talented young cast aged 5 to 19 years old and this Dahlicious production.

Treasure Island

Story Pocket Theatre dramatises Brit comic and award winning children’s author David Baddiel’s AniMalcolm. The show uses physical theatre and live puppetry to tell the comical tale of Malcolm, a boy who hates animals, as he inhabits the bodies of several farm creatures on a school trip.

The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio

Coppélia by Vienna Festival Ballet

Infused with old world charm, Coppélia appeals to audiences of all ages with its captivating story of an eccentric toymaker and his beloved doll. The Vienna Festival Ballet’s production embellishes the original E.T.A. Hoffmann tale with fabulous dancing and beautiful storytelling.

Alice in Wonderland

Join Alice down the rabbit hole in her magical adventures through Wonderland in this new staging of Lewis Carroll’s family favourite ‘Alice In Wonderland.’ There are shows at 3pm and 6pm.


Easter Fun
■ Little Street, Frimley & West Byfleet ■ Mon 8 – Mon 22 April

This imaginative indoor play centre – a grown ups world in miniature for little people – is a brilliant option for cooler or wet days with the littlies. Meet the baby arrivals in the vets, plant some seedlings in the gardening corner, bake Easter treats in the cafe, and dress up in our seasonal costumes. Activities are included in the standard ticket price and there’s a free chocolate treat if you can find where the Easter bunny is hiding. If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth a visit.
