Hello 2020! The best local places to party

It's almost 2020, can you believe it?! Here's our run down of the best places to celebrate with a glass of fizz in Surrey. Cheers to that!

Party vibes

A visit to Denbies is always a good idea, and that’s no different for New Year’s Eve. The vineyard is hosting an evening of celebration complete with drinks and canapés upon arrival, four courses followed by coffee and festive nibbles, more complimentary fizz at midnight and music throughout the meal from vocalist Noelle Vaughn, all ending with a disco and DJ until 1am. Our kinda party!

Dress up in your finest cocktail dress and heels and head to Epsom Downs Racecourse for the occasion. Bring in the new year in glamorous style with a black tie dinner and dance party complete with a three-course meal and fizz galore. Top tip – pack some flip flops in your bag for recovery after that long night of busting some moves!

Reigate Manor is holding an extra special New Year’s event with a twist. Start your night off with champagne and canapés in the lounge before moving into the ballroom for an evening of entertainment and indulgence. Try your hand at blackjack or roulette on the casino tables before indulging in a seven-course tasting menu, with live music and a DJ. Yes please!

The overnight celebration

The swanky bar at Beaverbook Hotel

Dodge being the designated driver and book an overnight stay as part of your New Year’s celebration. Head to the Runnymede Hotel for a night of canapés, luxury courses and champagne galore. An in-house DJ will be playing music until 1pm, after which you can head upstairs for a perfect night’s sleep after an evening of dancing. Brunch is even included the next day, perfecto!

Looking for a super glam night? Try the Brooklands Hotel, where you will walk the red carpet to a glass of prosecco and arrival canapés, followed by a fancy four-course meal. Party into the New Year with a DJ and then snooze in one of their luxury hotel rooms. What better way to start a new year?!

Beaverbrook House has a seriously perfect sounding New Year’s Eve package that we’ve got our eye on. Think low key and tranquil with the luxury vibes to fit the occasion. An overnight stay includes a complimentary bottle of wine, full use of spa facilities and a full breakfast the next morning. Sign us up!

Destination dinner

The magnificent Great Fosters near Egham

Have you been to Barnett Hill House? It’s seriously stunning and it could be just what you’re looking for this New Year’s Eve. An overnight break includes a delicious five-course dinner, a night of entertainment, and a fill-your-boots breakfast the next day. Upgrade your room to a suite, because why not?

Great Fosters near Egham would be an extra special place to welcome 2020. The New Year’s Eve dinner and dance package includes a dinner dance in the Tithe Barn with a live band, accommodation and delicious breakfast on New Year’s Day morning. What a treat!

The New Year’s Eve Gala at The Mitre Hotel at Hampton Court sounds super special. There will be glass of prosecco on arrival, three course dinner, petit fours with teas/coffee and then dance the night away til the early hours with a resident DJ, all for £69 per person. Love it!

Keeping it local

Bridge Hotel

Sometimes there’s nothing better than getting comfortable at a local to bring in the new year. We love the pub at the Bridge Hotel, which will be hosting an evening of entertainment to bring in the new year, accompanied with its famous burgers – yum! The Retreat promises a party like it’s 1999 (or 2019) to the soundtrack of a DJ playing the best tunes to see you through the evening. The £10 ticket includes midnight buffet feast – sign us up!

What says New Year’s Eve more than indulging in delicious seasonal food and tipples, combined with a party atmosphere? If this sounds good to you, head to The Cock Inn with the musical talents of local duo Avarice playing covers of well-known upbeat rock and pop classics so you can dance your way through to the stroke of midnight.

If you’re looking for a low key evening, The Stag on the River could be the place for you. Tipples galore, roaring fires and the cosiest atmosphere imaginable, this will be the perfect location to cherish precious time with loved ones and reminisce about the past year. There’s a fancy set menu available, too, if that’s your bag.
