The festival lowdown

'Tis the season for drinking too much cider and getting sunburnt in a field under the guise of being a live music fan. Here's our pick of the best summer fests.

Summer is upon us and with that comes the glorious festival season. Dig out your tent and dust off those wellies for our rundown of the best festivals coming to Surrey (and beyond) this year.

 

Hampton Court Palace Festival
■ Hampton Court ■ Thu 6 – Sat 22 June

Revel in the joy of light summer evenings with a fortnight of concerts in the picturesque setting of Hampton Court, joining the likes of Nile Rodgers, Busted and Jools Holland. There are only a few tickets remaining though, so be quick! hamptoncourtpalacefestival.co.uk

Salomon Trail Festival

Guildford Summer Festival 2019

ShyneFest

Grab your sequins, tent and wellies for this family-fun festival filled with live music, arts and crafts and silent discos. Face paints at the ready! shynefest.uk

Gin & Rum Festival
■ Fri 21 – Sat 22 June ■ Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher

The touring festival where you’re guaranteed to have a tipple or two is coming to Surrey for a weekend packed with tasting sessions, masterclasses and an award-winning resident DJ to boost the party vibe. ginandrumfestival.com

Walton-on-Thames Beer, Wine & Live Music Festival
■ Fri 28 – Sat 29 June ■ Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club 

Need to let your hair down? With beer, wine and live music all in one place, this not for profit community event is just what the doctor ordered. Headliners Jafuso Blue and Brickwork will lead the perfect soundtrack for a weekend of pure fun. waltonbeerfestival.org

Trew Fields Festival

Party in the Park

A much-loved free family event, Party in the Park showcases the best in entertainment for adults and children, including a fun fair, street theatre and dance performances and live music. Kew the Music

Henley Festival

Sun and Moon Wellbeing Festival

Camp Bestival

Wilderness
