The Summer River House at Oakley Court is open to Soho House members only. To gain access to the cool riverside seating areas, day beds and tented restaurant you’ll need to hunt down a card-carrying fashionable friend – new memberships are currently frozen with a 12-month waiting list. The Living Room Cinema
Big news just across the Hants border in Liphook with the impending launch of a brand new independent 60-seat cinema. Work is currently underway to transform the former Anchor garage – originally built as a car showroom – into The Living Room Cinema, with an expected launch in early 2022. It will be the first purpose-built cinema in the area sine the closure of The Rex in Haslemere way back in 1986. So what can we expect from the new cinema? As well as showing new-release and quality films in intimate surroundings, there will be a space for socialising over coffee or cocktails, and as the name suggests it’s going for a home-from-home vibe. There will also be a multi-use event space in the foyer. Roll on 2022 – we can’t wait!
