Hotel and restaurant openings
Exciting news incoming!! A super swish five-star hotel has just opened its doors in Molesey on the banks of the River Thames right next door to Hampton Court Palace. The Mitre includes two restaurants, The Coppernose (named after King Henry), an restaurant and wine bar offering all day dining, and 1665 brasserie and bar with a terrace over looking the river. Ronnie Kimbugwe, who worked with Gordon Ramsay at Claridges for six years before running the food at the Bel and the Dragon pub group, is in charge of the food at both. The 36-bedroom luxury boutique hotel is in the Grade II-listed building – which dates back to 1665 – used originally as accommodation for King Henry’s guests. It’s the first hotel to be launched by the brand new luxury hotel group the Signet Collection, founded by Hector Ross, the former head of Longshot, which owns the Beaverbrook near Leatherhead. And if the gorgeousness of Beaverbrook is any indication, The Mitre, promises to be something incredibly special.
