Situated at the top of Richmond Hill, bordering the beautiful Richmond Park, this 18th century building has been restored to include a serene sanctuary and an impressive spa, complete with a hydrotherapy pool, plunge pool, gym, cardio suite, spin studios and a wellbeing juice bar and café.

Away from the spa into the bedroom (ohh, naughty!), there’s also been a complete redesign with the hotels 90 bedrooms now sporting a sophisticated blend of vivid colour and bold patterns. Four-hundred thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, complimentary gin and sherry and White Company toiletries add a luxe finishing touch.

There’s also a new restaurant – The Gate Kitchen, Bar and Terrace – which looks out over the hotel’s rear gardens and offers all-day dining with a cool neighbourhood-hangout kind of vibe. Food leans towards comfort food, with a strong ethos of slow food and clean eating and a big selection of plant-based and vegan dishes.
