Superflashy newsflash

All the goss and groovy stuff we've heard happening around Surrey this week. Lean closer!

Who loves wine?

Me me me! Oh, you too? Then you’ll love this festival dedicated to the stuff at the Guildford Harbour Hotel on Sat 23 March. Tickets are now on sale. There’ll be wine tasting, a wine walk and a wine masterclasses, giving you the opportunity to discover more about wines  from within our own backyard in Surrey and as far as California and Moldova. Surrey producers Denbies Wine Estate, High Clandon, Albury Vineyard and Greyfriars will be there. Tickets are £20 for a session from 1-4pm or £25 for the 5-8pm session.

Let there be (sun) light

The short dark days of the British winter are enough to get anyone down, so it’s good to know that the BSpa at Brooklands Hotel now has a sunlight therapy room which features 10 loungers as well as a cafe area for guests. The sunlight therapy room uses sunlight simulators to replicate natural sunlight – so you’re getting all the natural benefits of the sun without the risk of skin damage.

Spice up your life

If you fancy seeing the Spice Girls but missed out on tickets for their stadium tour – here’s the next best thing. The Spice Girls Show – which includes all five Spices – is coming to Guildford’s G Live in April (Wed 24, to be exact). Unsurprisingly, tickets are already selling fast.

Time for supper

We love a pop-up supper club at Muddy – and we’re especially excited about this Indian-inspired dinner at Cullenders Deli in Reigate next month. Jaya Malani who runs the home-based cookery school Breech Lane Curry House, will have her chef’s hat on, and will treat you to some of her family’s recipes. Tickets are £45 per person… and they’re selling fast.

Pub in the Park, Chiswick

Roll up, roll up for your tickets to Tom Kerridge’s Pub In The Park festival – they’re on sale now. The Chiswick House and Gardens festival, this year from 6-8 September, is always a hot ticket, with its blend of Michelin-starred pop-ups (James Martin is coming this year, along Rick Stein and Monica Galetti) and live music including Razorlight, Clean Bandit and Scouting for Girls. Muddy recently went along to meet Chef Kerridge at his new gaff at The Corinthia Hotel. Read all about it here.
