New wine alert

Albury Organic Wine has just launched its newest wine – the Surrey Hills Mead, a wine fermented from honey. Mead is said to be one of the world’s oldest alcoholic drinks, revered for its healing properties.Rich and floral with heady honey aromas, Surrey Hills Mead can be served chilled over ice, with a twist of lemon, or simply poured at room temperature to let the honey flavours shine through. As well as the grape viens, Albury is also home to a cluster of hives housing around half a million bees which produce Albury Honey.

With two UK number 1 albums including the 2018 hit Always In Between, Jess Glynne will perform to thousands of race goers live after racing at Lingfield Park Racecourse on Saturday 10 August. This lady is hot hot hot right now – so tickets will sell fast though. I’d get in quickly! Racing is from 5.10pm-8.15pm – music starts after the last race.

Fashion reboot

Here’s a heads-up if you love fashion and fancy a bit of a wardrobe clear-out or just want to bag yourself a gorgeous bargain. The first ever Fashion Reboot will be held at Cobham Curve on Thurs 16 May, where you can buy and sell top quality pre-loved fashion. Cost for selling is £30, or if you’re buying only it’s £5. As well as stylists, boutique owners and fashion fanatics selling their pre-loved (and some brand new) wardrobe gems at bargain prices, there will also be bubble! It’s from 7pm-10pm. New cafe and wine bar in Haslemere

Coming soon to Haslemere is natty little bar and drinks shop in the town’s Edwardian post office building – incorporating a bar and cafe, plus a shop selling local and English wines, craft beer, artisan spirits and non alcoholic options. Oh, and as an added bonus there will also be a post office counter. The online part of the business – called the Real English Drinks House – is already up and running and you can buy a fabulous range of drinks. The cafe and bar is expected to open towards the end of May or early June.

Mega refurb

Rejoice! Two foodie spots are reopening just in time for spring and a cold G&T in the pub garden. The Red Barn at Blindley Heath relaunches this Thur 21 March after an extensive refurb and the 16th century inn is looking pretty fabulous. Over in Thames Ditton, The Albany has also been on the receiving end of a major spruce up, and has also just introduced a new wellness range of healthy food options which are 750 calories ore less.

New pub in Farnham

In case you haven’t yet heard, The Castle Inn has opened its doors in Farnham on the site previously occupied by Brasserie Blanc. The Castle Inn is part of the Surrey-based Red Mist group of boutique pubs alongside the wonderful Stag on the River in Lower Easing and Cock Inn in Headley, among others. Like it’s stable mates, you can expect quality locally-sourced gastropub food and a good choice of wine, local ales, craft beers, artisan gins and cocktails,
