Pop royalty in Surrey
What's on our radar this summer? From the glammest gal in pop to 90s classics and funk, we've got your summer fun nailed with these three gigs at Sandown Park - just grab your tickets before they sell out.
Summer feels a loooong way off in the depths of Jan but how about this little ray of sunshine? The ever-glam (and never ageing) Paloma Faith, who has rocked every look from a red-headed Debbie Harry to 50s housewife and absolutely nailed every one of them, is playing locally this summer – 20 July infact.
She’s part of a line-up of rock royalty gracing the stage at Sandown Park. Aside from the – doubtless – fabulous outfits there will be the usual top notch production and Paloma’s big hitters like Only Love Can Hurt Like This and newbies from her latest album, Infinite Things.
Also on the rostrum will be Nile Rodgers & CHIC on 27 July. The multiple GRAMMY award-winner’s music just screams summer with hits included Le Freak, (the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records) and Good Times, which arguably sparked a whole genre of music you might have heard of… hip-hop.
And what self-respecting chick growing up in the 80s/90s doesn’t love a bit of Simply Red, so why not indulge your guilty pleasure on 4 Aug. We see it in the stars… a fabulous night of dancing in the open air to those nostalgia-filled choons.
