THEATRE: A Taste of Honey

Bijan Sheibani’s hit 2014 production is coming to the suburbs for one week only! The performance follows the tale of Jo, a feisty teenager, who enters a relationship with a sailor after her mother runs off with a car salesman and a guardian moves in to watch over her. Twists are turns are guaranteed!

THEATRE: Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical
■ New Wimbledon Theatre, Wimbledon ■ Mon 7 – Sat 12 Oct

Ramp up the camp as Priscilla Queen Of The Desert rolls into Wimbledon – with an explosion of glamour, sequins, a cracking choon and a lorra laughs. All shades of FAB-U-LOUS.

THEATRE: Alice – Wonderland Through The Looking Glass
■ The Capitol, Horsham■ Tues 8 Oct

Alice has now grown up and the Looking Glass is a portal to our world, which the Red Queen has crossed into and opened a casino featuring an Army of Cards. Chantry Dance Company brings its new ballet production to The Capitol, created by the choreographers of David Walliams’ Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny and featuring Britain’s Got Talent star Shannon Parker. Ages 7+ £15.

COMEDY: Fern Brady – Power and Chaos
■ G Live, Guildford ■ Wed 9 Oct

Fern is one of the UK’s hottest comedy stars. Known for being totally unique and completely fearless her new show will tackle sexuality, feminism, power, Brexit, Britishness, Scottishness and nationality all with her caustic wit, exceptional writing and electric stage craft.

EVENT: Surrey Homes Magazine Open House 
■ Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher ■ Thu 10 – Sat 12 Oct

Enjoy shopping and eating? Of course you do. This all-new three day event will feature over 200 stalls selling everything from bespoke coats, jewellery and home fragrances. In addition to the abundance of food outlets available to sample, there will also be free talks by influential figures such as chef Melissa Hemsley.

MUSIC: Robert Habermann: Mad About Movies
■ Cranleigh Arts Centre ■ Fri 11 Oct, 7.30pm

The award-winning singer takes to the stage to tell all about the famous story of The Hollywood Musical. From Barbara Streisand, Fred Astaire and Judy Garland, this hit-packed show will have your toe tapping in no time!

ART: Sussex Art Fair
■ Brighton Racecourse ■ Fri 11 – Sun 13 Oct

Not exactly in Surrey, but an art fair worth travelling too if only to see the gorgeous works by Surrey-based artist Ramona Pintea. Ramona wants to inspire women to be bold, beautiful and empowered – and this undoubtedly comes through in her work. I’m a little bit in love. The private view is on Fri.

THEATRE: All’s Well That Ends Well
■ St Nicolas’ Church, Guildford ■ Sat 12 Oct – Sat 2 Nov

The award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company has joined forces with the Jermyn Street Theatre to bring the classic Shakespeare tale to Guildford. One of the playwrights most romantic stories, it follows the tale of four women following their dreams.

KIDS’ THEATRE: Oi Frog & Friends!
■ Aldridge Theatre, Farnham ■ Sat 12 Oct – Sun 13 Oct

Adapted from the bestselling books by Kes Gray and Jim Field, this promises to be an action-packed play with songs, puppets, laughs and rhymes galore. It is an ideal introduction to theatre and the perfect entertainment for families with children over three years old.

Who doesn’t love a glass of the fizzy stuff? Head to Bourne Hall for an afternoon and evening of entertainment, music and, of course, the opportunity to try some of the finest prosecco, frizzante, cava, brut, pink fizz, champagne… The list goes on! Hiccup.

EVENT: Tadworth Craft Fair
■ Church of the Good Shepherd Church Hall, Tadworth ■ Sat 12 Oct

Spare change at the ready! Everything is handmade at this fundraising fair, including artisan goods, gifts, crafts, jewellery and cards. Admission is just £1 and under 16s go free!

FAMILY FUN: The Annual Pumpkin Show
■ Dorking Christian Centre ■ Sat 12 Oct, 1pm – 5pm

‘Tis the season for pumpkins galore and what better to celebrate the vegetable’s peak month than an event entirely dedicated to them? Previous events have seen pumpkins the size of wheels! There will also be children’s entertainment, tombolas and bake sales. The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the community!
