The Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016 are nearly here!

Do you have a favourite hair salon or pub that you can’t go a week without visiting? Do you love the county we live in and want to help your local business communities? Then move in a little closer while I tell you more about the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016!

Muddy Stilettos Surrey is following hot on the heels of its Oxon/Bucks sister and is holding its very first Awards in Surrey from 4 May! Designed to support, encourage and celebrate the very best lifestyle businesses in the county, everyone can get involved, including you.

The Awards boast 30 categories, ranging from best art gallery to best cutting edge bar. Public nominations open on 4 May and winners will be announced on 14 June (I’m getting excited!). Then on Thurs 16 June, we’ll celebrate with a winners’ event at Painshill in Cobham. (Now I’m really excited!) You can see the full list of categories below, so if you know any lovely boutique hotels or yoga/pilates studios, you can nominate them and cast your vote as soon as it opens.

The Muddy Stilettos Awards have been running in Bucks/Oxon since 2012 and in Herts since 2014. Muddy Stilettos is all about quality and curation, so to win a Muddy Award is a real achievement, and importantly gives often overlooked lifestyle businesses a much-needed platform from which to grow.

The Awards are FREE to enter and all winners receive a unique Muddy Stilettos Awards window rosette, certificate, exposure on Muddy Stilettos Surrey and assistance in achieving coverage in regional media.

So why do your favourite businesses want to be associated with Muddy Stilettos? Voted the Most Innovative Blog in the UK at the UK Blog Awards 2015, Muddy Stilettos Surrey launched in February 2016 with me, Amber Evans, former Independent and i  journalist and local resident as editor. And thanks to you all, we have quickly gained a loyal readership of intelligent, cosmopolitan, fun-loving women (and quite a few blokes who seem to love it too)!

As you know, Muddy is the ‘urban guide to the countryside’, with a strong focus on unearthing the interesting, quirky and unmissable things to do in the area. These awards will support, encourage and celebrate the very best lifestyle businesses in the county.

So! Thanks for being involved with Muddy thus far, and let’s help get your fave businesses in the finals. Good luck.

Hey Amber ? Will there be a link that we can share and ask people to vote for Inspirations? Or Simply Scones? I suspect you will be inundated with nominations, how on earth will you choose?

Hi Sue… The public votes, so I don’t decide. Then, at the end of the first round, the top five businesses go into the finals, and the public votes again. The finals are live on the site so everyone can see who is in the lead, and who is slipping behind. It gets really exciting. Good luck. xx

Shannon Pilatis is the best. The teachers are all so well trained and talk you through each excercise to make sure you will benefite from each step you do. You feel that you are having a one to one as they keep an eye on each person to make sure you are doing correctly. I can’t praise them enough.
Just the best and I have been to a few different classes. Can’t recommend them enough. Money very well spent.

    I vote for Reigate Pilates

Ruby and Kind in Cranleigh High Street for the best deli!

Hi Viki… thanks for your nomination. Ruby and Kind looks fab. I’ll have to pop in next time I’m in the area. xx
