<p>Winter is the season to enjoy a hearty Sunday roast, and there&#8217;s nothing better than washing it down with a delicious glass of wine (or two!). But which wines do you pair with your roast dinner?</p>



<p>Sharpen your knives, pre-heat the oven and pour yourself a glass of wine &#8211; it&#8217;s officially the season of the Sunday Roast. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-roast-beef">Roast beef</h2>



<p><a href="https://thegrapevariety.com/shop/wine/red/primitivo-salento-88/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Primitivio Salento 88</a> is a corker with roast beef. It&#8217;s full of plum, cherry and tobacco notes and is extremely juicy with a jammy background. As it&#8217;s got a decent structure it goes well with rare beef, and the sweet finish will complement your gravy nicely.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Roast lamb</h2>



<p>Looking to pair wine with a slow cooked lamb? Try the <a href="https://thegrapevariety.com/shop/wine/red/nero-davola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nero d&#8217;avola</a> &#8211; this juicy, structured wine will give you aromas of blueberry and blackberry, beautifully balanced by the slightly fatty flavours of your lamb.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Roast chicken</h2>



<p>Pinot Noir is such a crowd pleaser when it comes to roast dinners, that it really could be paired with anything! However it&#8217;s particularly great with roast chicken, which generally needs a less full-bodied wine. It&#8217;s also truly scrumptious with mushrooms so is the perfect match for a veggie wellington. <a href="https://thegrapevariety.com/shop/wine/red/andre-faller-pinot-noir/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Andre Faller Pinot Noir</a> has intense aromas of raspberry and strawberry and is dry and refreshing. </p>
