<p>With a bespoke adventure play area designed and built by Flights of Fantasy, experts at creating custom-made luxury children’s play equipment, the Duke of Cambridge is a great spot for a lunch with the family. The play area boasts bridges, a rowing boat, a lookout tower, and plenty more including slides. It&#8217;s perfect for letting the kids blow off steam while you enjoy a tipple alfresco or a long lunch (after they&#8217;ve scoffed and run!). On the menu, you can expect locally sourced food and a real focus on sustainability. There&#8217;s a mix of elevated classics alongside global dishes.</p>

<p>If it&#8217;s a big garden you love, head to Bel and the Dragon in Churt. We love the stretch tents and parasols for keeping out of the midday sun &#8230; and the sun loungers for a proper holiday vibe. But the best part is the large play area at the bottom of the garden. There&#8217;s a children&#8217;s playhouse, a fort ropes for climbing. On Sundays, there&#8217;s also a children’s activity area offering crafts, games and creative fun, run by The Kids’ Table. The Kids&#8217; Menu includes all those classics that kids love – burgers, pasta, sausage and mash, breaded scampi. Grown-ups can expect seasonal menus offering the likes of Grassroots beef, monkfish, crab arancini and spatchcock chicken. During the summer the woodfired pizza oven in fired up offering pizza on Friday and Satruday from 12noon-8pm.</p>

<p>Located in Farnham&#8217;s town centre, this is a great pub for families. As well as a welcoming and a buzzy vibe and fab children’s menu (options include the ever-popular burgers, sausage and mash, spaghetti and beef ragu ravioli), there&#8217;s also a wonderful walled garden where kids can be kids. It&#8217;s set up with outdoor activities and games &#8211; think giant Connect Four and kiddies slides. Grown ups can pull up a seat on the terrace overlooking the garden&#8230; and relax.</p>

<p>A gorgeous riverside pub in the village of Gomshall, between Dorking and Guildford. The Tillingbourne River literally runs through the centre of the pub and fabulous huge glass windows giving a great view of the original waterwheel.&nbsp;The original watermill is a great little history lesson for kids. But outside, there&#8217;s a glorious garden, on the banks of the river with a fab children&#8217;s play area that include a trim trail. Kids happy! Grown ups happy! Food wise, expect gastropub classics like burgers, steak and pies alongside beer-braised beef and pan roasted seabass.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This gorgeous country pub sits just outside Oxted and does a grand job of ticking all the boxes. In the cooler months it&#8217;s characterful and cosy. But it&#8217;s in the summer the pub really comes into its own for families &#8211; thanks to the large garden and children&#8217;s play area. There&#8217;s a tractor (natch!!) for kids to clamber on and as well as swings. You&#8217;ve got a good gastropub menu with classics like beef, ale and potato pie, fish and chips and pork belly alongside dishes like grilled seabass with pickled ginger, Keralan King prawn curry and a smoked duck, mango and avocado salad.</p>

<p>Choose from a sit down dinner from the pub&#8217;s kitchen, or indulge in a slice (or a whole pie) from the pizza shack, all while the kids make the most of the fenced-off play area outside. There are picnic tables by the play area as well as a covered terrace and heated dining cabins. Expect standard pub favourites on the menu: steaks, burgers, fish and chips and the pub&#8217;s &#8216;famous&#8217; BBQ ribs. There&#8217;s also a pizza shack in the garden, serving hand-stretched sourdough pizzas, which we can recommend.</p>

<p>A lovely country pub with home-cooked food and a children&#8217;s playground. Yes, this historic village inn, just a few miles from Godalming, is a box-ticker.  Menus are interesting and eclectic. Think battered banana blossom, bao buns and Vietnamese pork chops, alongside traditional pub classics like battered fish and chips and rump steak. The Sunday roasts are said to be amazing. The village playground is right next to the pub&#8217;s garden, so children can play to their heart&#8217;s delight while the grown-ups sit back and enjoy the </p>

<p>This elegant country pub has a big garden overlooking a stream and amazing views over the Vale of Chilworth to St Martha’s Hill. For kids, there&#8217;s a gorgeous big play area. It&#8217;s only a couple of years old and includes tunnels, slides and climbing frames. There are strong South African influences throughout &#8211; in the food and the decor. And there are seven luxury bedrooms here, so staying over is also an option.</p>
