The Apprentice has been running for – wait for it – almost two decades. And each series there’s a fresh new batch of business hopefuls ready to take out the competition at any cost. This year, Muddy’s eye is very much on local entrepreneur and 2025 candidate, Max England. But does he have what it takes to secure the £250,000 investment?

Here’s what we know so far.

Max, 31, is no stranger to competition. A former professional tennis player, he’s made the move from tennis court pro to padel enthusiast.

And now he hopes to tempt Lord Sugar into the world of padel too.

Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world, with over 25 million people now playing the sport. But, says Max, the UK padel market is still in its infancy and is only just starting its growth journey.

“My ambition is to open a series of premium, indoor padel centres that service not only the general public but provide a base for those looking for the highest-quality facilities and the best coaching.”

Already, the entrepreneur has launched his own line of padel rackets, the MaxPadel One Series, available to buy on Amazon for £129.99. And he’s clearly been doing his research into padel centres. His Instagram shows his reviews of padel centres across the UK – everywhere from Bristol and Leeds to Twickenham and Epsom.

Max is not afraid of the competition either. He says of his fellow competitors: “There no doubt will be a number of enthusiastic and opinionated personalities who are all confident and bold like me. I’m looking forward to locking horns with them and seeing who comes out on top.”
