Harper’s Steakhouse is a laid-back American steakhouse with stylish boutique bedrooms. Situated on the edge of the pretty market town of Haslemere, close to Sussex and Hampshire, it’s the perfect base for discovering this beautiful area of southern England. There’s plenty to see and do in all directions –  to the south is the nearby beauty of the South Downs National Park and the delights of Goodwood, Chichester and the south coast. In the nearby Surrey Hills there is great walking and cycling at Devils Punch Bowl. Petworth House, Winkworth Arboretum and RHS Wisley are also within easy reach.

There are 16 boutique bedrooms above and behind the steakhouse, each individually decorated in a cosy country style and sporting all the luxe mod-cons you could ask for. There’s Egyptian cotton sheets, wi-fi, Nespresso machine, fluffy towels and delicious bathroom toiletries. There are also pet-friendly rooms, so no need to leave the pooch at home.

For foodies, there’s an all-day menu which starts with breakfast and brunch and includes all your favourites plus extras like breakfast waffles with BBQ pulled pork, fried chicken and bacon, or – for the sweet of tooth – berries and cream.

Main menus focus on melt-in-the-mouth premium steaks and shareable feasts including the 24oz Cote de boeuf and the 16oz Chateaubriand for those looking to really indulge. They offer a variety of cuts, including Bistro Rump, Rump, Sirloin, Prime Ribeye, and Fillet. 

Alongside the steaks, there’s also a great burger menu (which includes a plant based option for non-meat eaters), and plenty of alternatives to beef on the grill menu. For vegan, vegetarian and pescatarians, there are also a few choices – but at it’s heart this menu is all about the steaks!

And to wash it all down? There’s plenty to tempt at this steakhouse, from American craft beers and brews to cocktails.
