Langshott Manor, Horley
More private house than hotel, Langshott Manor in Horley has a long and illustrious history as a place to gather and celebrate in Surrey.
WOne of the oldest properties in the Alexander Hotel Collection, the history of Langshott Manor dates back to 1580. The historic Moat Mews is home to rooms named after Henry VIII and his wives in an homage to the history of this manor house.
Intimately sized, Langshott Manor is perfect for exclusive-use weddings, parties… and, well, anything. Fancy an elegant birthday lunch, anniversary supper or afternoon tea with a gaggle of your besties. Langshott Manor has the perfect spot.
The Drawing Room, on the ground floor next to The Mulberry, is ideal for gatherings around one large 22-seater table. There are gorgeous views of the lake too.
The Gallery is a more intimate affair, up the galleried staircase on the first floor, for up to 14 guests. There’s a grand open fireplace and lounge, which makes it perfect for pre-dinner drinks and canapés, private afternoon teas or elegant tasting suppers.
If you’re planning a larger ‘do’, you’ll want The Mulberry. It’s on the ground floor with doors that lead out to the gardens, and is the largest suite at Langshott. There’s space for up to 70 guests. Any style of event is possible in The Mulberry including chef Josh Mann’s summer barbecue and hog roast. It makes for a lovely occasion with guests flowing between the garden and The Mulberry.
Oh la la, don’t mind if we do!
Lovely Langshott
When they’re not hosting a bash, the manor is known for fabulous food and overnighter, the ‘Lovely Langshott’ experience.
Their AA-rosette awarded afternoon tea is not to be missed. You can enjoy your sandwiches and scones traditionally in The Mulberry with crisp white linen, in one of their more casual Lounges or in warmer weather, on the terrace overlooking the pretty gardens.
With 22 Elizabethan rooms and suites all with modern flourishes Langshott Manor is also a luxurious way to start or end your holiday when flying from London Gatwick which is just mere minutes away, yet blessedly not on the flight path!
If you like Tudor with a twist, live like the gentry with a stopover or sumptuous meal at Langshott Manor.
