Mayfield Lavender, Banstead & Epsom
Dreaming of purple fields and lavender-scented days? Mayfield Lavender in Surrey offers stunning blooms, a year-round Glasshouse Café, and seasonal family fun.

If you haven’t been to Mayfield Lavender yet, consider this your official nudge. The Banstead farm is a 25-acre slice of Provence in Surrey — rolling purple fields, the soft hum of bees, and that soothing lavender scent that makes even the busiest brain exhale.
From mid-June, the organic fields (completely chemical-free, of course) burst into bloom, inviting visitors to wander, snap photos, hop on the Looby Loo train, or strike a pose by the iconic red telephone box. Don’t miss “Fergie,” the beloved Massey Ferguson tractor, or the wooden heart-shaped bench — both perfect for a cheeky photo op.
Feeling peckish? The alfresco café serves light lunches, refreshments and traditional afternoon teas, while the retro Airstream Café in the middle of the fields dishes up lavender ice creams, cakes, and refreshing drinks. There’s also an on-site shop brimming with lavender-infused goodies – from hand creams and candles to teas, honey, and even liqueurs. Little ones can join in the fun too, with free bee trails and beetle hunts dotted around the farm.
And if that’s not enough lavender, head to the stylish sister-site The Mayfield Glasshouse in nearby Epsom. Part café, part gift shop, part plant haven, it’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends over coffee or indulge in one of their famous Lavender Cream Teas. The shop is packed with gifts, shortbread, English wines, homeware and – naturally – plenty of lavender plants for your own garden.
Tucked alongside is the Secret Lavender Garden, a peaceful hidden gem that offers a more intimate experience during lavender season. With timed sessions for around 50 guests (and picnics welcome!), it’s the quieter, more contemplative counterpart to Banstead’s buzz.
And it’s not just for summer — The Secret Garden hosts seasonal events throughout the year, from spooky Halloween fun to Christmassy sparkle and Easter magic. The Glasshouse also has a private events space, perfect for birthdays, baby showers, and other celebrations.
The two Mayfield venues are just 10 minutes drive apart – so you can combine the both and make it a full day (in season) of lavender fun.
Whether it’s a summer stroll through the Banstead fields, a cosy cream tea in Epsom, or hunting for the perfect lavender gift, Mayfield Lavender is Surrey’s go-to for fragrant, photogenic, and feel-good days out.
