Love a fabulous gin cocktail? Head to the Silent Pool Distillery, producers of a artisan handcrafted spirits including the acclaimed Silent Pool Gin.

This boutique distillery on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate sits on the banks of the legendary Silent Pool. It launched in 2014, within a year the first gin in the Silent Pool series was released featuring 24 carefully-chosen botanicals.

Distilled in a hand-built copper still powered by a vintage wood-fired steam boiler, Silent Pool Gin has established a firm and loyal following which quickly spread from the local community to an international audience. Along the way, Silent Pool Gin also netted an abundance of prestigious industry awards.

Silent Pool Gin captures the essence of the Silent Pool and the surrounding Surrey Hills, home to many of the botanicals that inspire the intricate gin recipe from chamomile and elderflower that grows in abundance around the Silent Pool to the roses and lavender in Albury village. The gin is full-bodied and fresh with depth, clarity and flavour. It’s a rich, clean, juniper-driven spirit with floral layers of lavender and chamomile.

Spirits

Alongside the original Silent Pool Gin, the distillery produces a range of gins, vodkas and other spirits including the award-winning Wry Vodka and the Admiral Collingwood Navy Gin with an ABV of 57%.

Tours

Keen to know more about the world of gin? There are distillery tours, masterclasses and experiences led by expert guides.

The popular 90-minute tour includes a history of gin and the Silent Pool, while also giving an insight into the four-stage distillation process. And of course, you’ll also get to taste test the range of spirits. Tours run from Thursday to Sunday. Booking is essential.

The distillery’s Pool Bar opens during the summer months, on a secluded and sunny terrace overlooking the Silent Pool. It’s open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
