The Drumming Snipe, Mayford
A warm and relaxing pub in Mayford Village, two miles outside Woking, with a large garden and heated terrace. Food is top notch. Muddy loves.
The Drumming Snipe pulls off the clever trick of providing something for everyone.
Family lunch with the nippers? There’s a big garden to keep them busy while you sip wine on the terrace. Afterwork drinks? Head to the large bar. Romantic dinner for two? Make a beeline for one of the quirky horse trailers in the garden. Dinner with friends? Make it the cosy dining room.
The second in the Brucan pubs portfolio, alongside the The Greene Oak in Windsor, The Drumming Snipe is run by friends James Lyon Shaw and Jamie Dobbin who met while working in the kitchens at The Ivy restaurant in London.
Head chef Jamie has a star studded CV having worked at Hush and Racine before starting a tour of five star London hotels that would make a wealthy widow weep with envy. We’re talking the Berkley, The Connaught and The Savoy, followed by the head chef’s role at The Ivy’s members only restaurant, The Club. From there it was executive chef at the Groucho Club in Soho – before upping sticks to Windsor, and now Mayford.
A smart new refurb, the pub exudes a handsome elegance – with lots of unique spaces that cater for small and cosy gathering all the way through to large and lavish celebrations. I
The Drumming Snipe offers a warm and relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy the perfect mid week meal, a delicious Sunday roast or a Friday night catch up with a great selection of cask ales, wines and cocktails to choose from.
The Drumming Snipe prides itself on offering a diverse selection of beers, cask ales from local brewers and ciders, and has carefully selected wine list offering an accessible range of bottles to suit all tastes and dishes. Or if cocktails are more your thing, there’s a great choice of those as well.
